(Y/n) knew she was in trouble the second she opened her front door and saw an Omen standing in her kitchen, red visor fixed menacingly on her. "Uh, hi?" she said, stepping into the living room. The robot stomped towards her, stopping a yard away from her. "My liege...?"
"Do you still think of me that way?" Morando's voice asked slowly. "Answer carefully, Lieutenant (Y/n)."
"Of course I do," she said, straightening. "I'm offended you'd even think otherwise."
"Then why were you protecting the royals?"
"I wasn't."
"I had them in my grasp! The princess was dead, yet you freed her and destroyed my Omen! Do you know how much rioting has begun on Akiridion-5? It's almost impossible to get anything done and I've had to make several arrests! You have your assignment, (Y/n), and yet you are failing so miserably!"
"Because the opportunity hasn't presented itself!" she yelled. She took a step back as the Omen advanced towards her. "Quick question: why are there two of these things?"
"I sent two down for both the royals, then decided to move this one the second you started attacking Alpha. I could see the whole battle from the mothership's security feed." The Omen lifted its servo, pointing it at her.
"You're not going to kill me, are you?" she asked nervously, lifting her hands. "For now, I'm the most reliable source for killing the royals that you have."
"Unless that source becomes unreliable," Morando growled. "Unlike Varvatos Vex, no one knows your true identity. Except for me. So if you did decide to change your loyalties, your secret would be safe. Unless I ratted you out."
"You think they'd believe you?" she sneered, then corrected herself. "I mean, if that were the case."
"Give them enough evidence to link up the assassin with you and there would be no denying it," Morando said, his tone triumphant. "There would be nowhere for you to run. Your only option would be to stay with me, or risk execution by the royals. Your friends."
"They're not my friends," she snapped. She dropped to one knee, clasping a fist to her chest. "My liege, please. Back there, on the mothership, I knew it wasn't the right time. Seeing the royals alive at all, the fact that they escaped you, it has put hope into the cores of Akiridion-5. You need to break them first, before killing the royals. I will prepare them, and then, when the time is right, they will be ready." She looked up at the Omen, who had lowered its servo back to its side. She breathed an inner sigh of relief.
"You make a fair point," Morando said, though he sounded hardly impressed. "However, I do not want to see you interfering with my operations ever again. Do you understand me?" The Omen stepped back, allowing her to stand. She nodded. "Very good. This Omen will be guarding you, now, so keep that in mind, my dear." Another nod. Morando didn't say another word, instead directing the Omen away to where it entered her ship, leaving her living quarters alone.
"I need to get my act together," she said. She pounded her palm on her forehead. "What side are you really on?"

"(Y/n)! (Y/n)! Oh, I'm glad you're here," Eli said as he and Toby walked down the sewer to the meeting spot. She tilted her head, tapping her foot.
"What was this about?" she asked. Toby was holding a chest, a longing look on his face. "What's with you, Toby?"
"Nummies," he said in a hypnotized tone. Eli snatched the box away from him.
"We're laying traps," the nerd said, setting the box down and thumping his huge and heavy looking pack down beside it.
