(Y/n) refused to cry anymore. She had known right from the moment she'd put her mask back on to go talk to Krel what would happen, yet she'd still gone and told him the truth because that had been what felt right.

And now she was back to being wanted by only one person, and that person stood in front of her, looking sympathetically down on her. Morando could read her like a book.

"My dear," he said in a soft voice and her lip trembled slightly. She would not cry. At least...not in front of Morando. He extended his hand to her and she hesitantly took it. "Tomorrow, I promise, it will all end. The reign of House Tarron will be over."

"Thank you, sire, but I really ought to go rest," she said after a moment.

"Of course." He dropped his hand, stepping aside to let her go to her quarters where she slammed the door shut, shedding her cloak and her mask and flopping onto her bed, which smelled new and of chemicals since she would be staying in Are 49B until Gaylen's core was safely in their possession.

She did try to sleep, she really did, but every time she closed her eyes, all she saw was Krel's betrayed face, the tears streaming down his cheeks. Shouldn't have hurting him like this been satisfying? After all, he had hurt her when all she had wanted was a glance in her direction back on Akiridion-5. But no. From the moment their lips connected, she knew that what she was doing was wrong.

So she was going to help the royals while still making it look like she was loyal to Morando. Then, she would see where her loyalties truly lay.

"Krel?" Aja gasped when he stumbled into the house, using two hands to try and stall the tears that kept coming. She ran over to him, checking him over for injuries. When she didn't find anything, she hauled him over to the couch and sat him down, kneeling in front of him. "What on Earth happened?"

"(Y/n) betrayed us," he said, briefly peeking through his fingers at his sister. He wiped the remaining tears away and lowered his hands as Zadra and Vex slowly walked into the room. Krel could hardly look at Zadra, her eyes wide. Her daughter had...betrayed them?

"What do you mean?" Aja asked quietly.

"She's the assassin," he said, dropping his head. He squeezed his eyes shut, gritting his teeth. "I can't believe we didn't see it!"

"How dare she?" Varvatos hissed, curling his hands into fists. "She has hurt the King-in-Waiting! Varvatos Vex will find her and tear her limb from limb!"

"Where did she go?" Aja growled with barely contained rage. Krel managed a halfhearted shrug.

"I told her to get out," he said, hugging himself tightly. His sister climbed onto the couch, wrapping all four arms around him. Without a word, Zadra left the room.

"Our little prince needs some comfort," Ricky Blank said to Lucy.

"I'll get to work on brewing something up!" Lucy Blank replied, hurrying into the kitchen. Mother's icon floated into the room, hovering beside Vex.

"My royal," she said in a soft voice. "Is there anything I can do to assist you?" Krel took a deep breath in through his nose, shaking out of Aja's embrace and standing up.

"Get to work on getting the components for the wormhole generator," he said. "We're going to take back our home from those traitors and we are going to win!"

"We are taking the Omens and marching on what remains of House Tarron!" General Morando announced later the next day. They'd spent the whole day planning and preparing, also arguing with Kubritz, who was seeming to have a loyalty crisis as well. However, her loyalty to Morando seemed firmer than (Y/n), but the assassin wasn't about to let the pun human show her up.
