Astoria was annoyed.

Six months she had been with Draco. Six whole months. But these past few weeks, he had completely blown her off. He was distracted, always wanted to stay in his room, and was always writing letters that she would see him throw away.

But Astoria was never bested. Once Draco smelled her, he would fall right back in love with her.

She gave the amortentia a final stir, watching it simmer into its rightful color. She took a sniff. Cologne, sweat, and wine. Same old thing. She carefully used her perfume bottle, scooping it up gently. She twisted the lid on, testing the sprayer into the cauldron. It worked.

Astoria easily flipped her long, blonde hair out of her face, spraying twice on her neck and one on each wrist, rubbing it in. She dabbed it behind her ears and a little on her collar.

Once Draco smells me, he'll fall right back in love with me, she thought.She was ready. She hadn't brewed much, so she could fit most of it into the bottle. She carefully deposited the 'perfume' into her bag, setting off for the door and into the early morning halls.

But something had gone wrong. She forgot the rest of the potion in the bottom half of the larger cauldron.

Hermione was gliding through the halls, trying to get to the potions room early that morning. She finally made it to the door. She had extra homework that she assigned herself to do, and she wanted to complete it before her classes.

She walked over to her table, noticing her cauldron was already out. She shrugged it off.

She was setting her bag down when a not so balanced book distracted her when it fell. She set the satchel down in the wrong spot, and her cauldron tumbled off of the table, splashing the contents all over her.

She gasped in shock at the still warm potion. She immediately recognized it as amortentia. Both from the look and from the smell. Black coffee, rain, snickerdoodles, and something new. Before, she didn't smell spearmint toothpaste, but Ron's hair. That didn't last long. Now, it smelled like mint or maybe pine trees? She had no idea. She ignored it, deciding to let her soaked robes stay on since her spare was being washed. Her shirt was white and soaked, so she had to keep them on anyway.

She finished up her project, and after setting everything away, she set off for Transfiguration.

She sat down in her normal seat, smiling at the messy haired boy with green eyes next to her. The minute she would sit down next to Harry, he would lay his head on her shoulder to get some extra sleep before class. Today was no different. She was used to it, so she just rubbed his back gently and gave him a mumbled 'good morning'. Harry loved being given physical affection, so he leaned just a bit farther into his best friend

Harry smiled to himself. He took a deep breath in, when he noticed something.

"You smell good today," he mumbled to Hermione.

"Do I?" she smirked to herself, keeping an innocent voice.

"Yeah," he yawned. "Like roses almost. And like treacle tarts. Did you have any today? You know I wanted some."

He sat up, putting his chin on her shoulder instead to look into her eyes.

"No, but I brought you some since you get hungry mid-morning. Do you want them now?"

He nodded, reaching behind her for the bag. Then he really smelled her.

"Okay, why are you wearing Ginny's perfume?" he asked in a serious tone. "I thought you didn't like that smell on you and ranted about how only she could pull it off?"

Hermione couldn't help her small giggle, looking around the quiet room of students before whispering to him. "Shush. When I went to get some things from the potions room this morning, I spilled somebody's leftover amortentia all over myself. I'm not wearing perfume nor did I eat any sweets. I smell like what most attracts you, Harry."

A deep scarlet came to his cheeks as he finally pulled the treat she had for him out of the bag.

"Oh."

~~~
That afternoon, Astoria finally caught Draco in an empty hallway before potions.
"Hey," she whispered, fluttering her lashes.
He raised a brow, lowering his head a bit as he waited for her to say something that was actually important. "Yes?"
"Where are you off to?" she tried asking, but the seductive tone in her voice didn't quite get to him.
"Potions. You know that."
He turned to leave, but she caught his wrist, turning him around. She wrapped her fingers around his tie, pulling him down to capture his lips.
Draco didn't refuse, but he still didn't put any sort of effort into kissing her. Finally, she let go, and he caught a whiff of her neck.
"Have fun," she winked. He internally shuddered.
"Yeah, alright," he mumbled, walking off. He paused, though, curious. He turned around, asking what he wanted to know. "And why are you wearing Granger's perfume?"
Astoria didn't answer, her face pale, so he just sighed and walked off.
By the time she was going back to the Head's dorms she shared, Hermione was exhausted. She knew what attracted everybody. And she was not an extrovert, so interacting with that many people in one day was too much for her.
Harry's was the smell of Ginny's perfume. Ron's was the smell of chocolate frogs and chess pieces. Dean's was the smell of a certain cologne. Seamus' was the smell of Dean's detergent. Luna's was the smell of rain. Ginny's was the smell of Harry's shampoo. Lavender's was the smell of mint tea.
Hermione could go on about the amount of compliments and smells she had been asked about. She was just too tired to even try.
She mumbled the password to the portrait, trudging in and dropping her bag to the floor as her feet dragged her to the couch.
Draco sat with a raised brow as she dropped down beside him, sinking in with a groan. He noticed how she kept her robes buttoned completely up today.
"Long day?" he smirked, looking back down at his book.
She nodded, shifting to lay her head on her friend's shoulder. He stilled to let her stay there.
"Well, imagine my pain when I broke it off with Astoria before dinner and still had to sit with her," he laughed.
Hermione cheered up a little at the thought of Draco squirming around uncomfortably.
"People have complimented my smell all day. It's driven me crazy."
Draco looked down at her, smelling her for a second.
"Why? You smell like you always do."
Hermione couldn't help the warm and giddy grin on her features, so she kept her face hidden in his shoulder. She replied, "Oh, I guess I do."
