Zuko's POV
I tossed and turned in my bed, my first night back and I couldn't sleep.

I grabbed my cloak and made my way to the prison tower which uncle was being held at.

"Who's there!?"

A guard yelled at me.

I didn't respond, I just turned around and left.

Later on in the night, I found another way in, as I made my way towards uncle's cell, the guard held out his spear towards me and yelled,

"You again!? Stop where you are!"

I looked back up at him and he stepped back, astonished,

"Prince Zuko?"

I grabbed him by his shirt and slammed him into the wall, exactly like Y/N always did,

"I'm going in for a visit. You're going to stand guard here and no one is going to know about this."

As I walked in I saw my uncle sat at the far end of the cell, staring at the ground.

"Uncle, it's me."

He turned away, so his back was towards me. He didn't say a word.

"You brought this on yourself, you know. We could've returned together. You could've been a hero."

He didn't respond.

"You have no right to judge me, uncle. I did what I had to do in Ba Sing Se and you're a fool for not joining me."

Again, he didn't respond.

"You're not going to say anything?"

I felt my heart pumping faster and my blood begin to boil as his silence continued.

I kicked the visitor chair and punched it into the wall, setting it ablaze.

"You're a crazy old man. You're crazy, and if you weren't in jail, you'd be sleeping in a gutter!"

I turned and stormed out.

The next day, as the sun was setting in the horizon, I sat on a blanket with Mai, her head resting on my shoulder.

She muttered,

"Orange is such an awful colour."

I snickered,

"You're so beautiful when you hate the world."

She gazed up at me,

"I don't hate you."

"I don't hate you too"

She leaned in and pressed her lips into mine.

Maybe this could work. With Mai, I felt less lonely, I wasn't worried that one day I'd wake up and she was gone, I felt secure.

I heard my sister clear her throat, I rolled my eyes and looked up to her,

"Zuko, could I have a word with you?"

I disregarded her,

"Can't you see we're busy?"

I pressed my lips back into Mai's.

But my sister wasn't going to let me ignore her that easily,

"Oh, Mai, Ty Lee needs your help untangling here braid."
