twenty-nine

I wake up panicked in Paytons arms. I sit up and slowly get out of bed, I check the time and its 3am. I go to the kitchen and get a glass of water. I sit on the counter and see Payton leave my room, he comes over to the kitchen. He stands in between my legs and wraps his arms around me.

"Its cold without you" he says half asleep

"Sorry" I say

"Why are you up" he asks

"Bad dream" I say "Lets go back to bed" I say getting off the counter.

We go back to bed and Payton cuddles back into me but I cant sleep. 'Was that all a dream...but it felt so real'. I try to sleep but I can't, I end up tossing and turning for the next few hours until my alarm goes off. I get out of bed and get dressed. I go back to my bed and wake Payton up.

"Wake up, you'll be late" I say shaking him lightly

"No cuddles" he says

"No, get up or you'll be late" I say walking away.

I go to the kitchen and start making breakfast, Payton comes out and into the kitchen. he gives me a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"I'm going, I'll see you first lesson" he says

"Yeah" I say as he walks away

The girls wake up and I get some breakfast for them. I finish getting ready. I'm putting my shoes on as the boys arrive, I grab a red bull and we leave.

On the way to class Payton tries to hold my hand, I put my red bull in the hand he tries to hold and take a sip so I don't have to. We get to maths and it goes by like normal. I don't really talk to anyone though. I walk to English with Payton like normal.

"Are you ok" he asks as we sit down

"Yeah why wouldn't I be" I ask

"I don't know, are you sure" he asks

"Yes I'm sure" I say and for once I'm happy to see Mr Morgan.

The two hours of English go by painfully slow. He tells us to pack up early so we do, he hands around a sheet of paper with a list of topics on it.

"You and a partner will be making a presentation to present to the class next Tuesday so you have a week to complete it. You can pick your partners but pick carefully because this is going towards your grade at the end of the semester" he says

"Want to be my partner" Payton asks

"Yeah sure" I say

Once he's done explaining he lets us go for break. Me and Payton meet the other where we normally hangout. We talk about our first lessons during break then the warning bell goes.

"I'll see once your back from Samantha's" he says and goes to kiss me but I doge it

"Yeah, I'll come over" I say giving him a quick kiss on the cheek

I go to the rest of my lessons like normal. When the bell at the end of last lesson goes I quickly pack up my things and go to Samanthas office. I go in and sit in the sofa.

"Hello Kaden, how are you" she asks as she sits in her chair.

"Alright kinda not really" I say

"What's wrong" she asks

"Well I had this dream last night where Payton was acting off and turns out he was cheating on me. I know it was a dream but it felt so real" I explain

"Well maybe it's your guilty conscience from when you kissed Kai. You should tell Payton if your worried something like that might happen" she says

"But we talked about it and he said it was fine so why do I feel guilty. It makes no sense" I say

"It's jus how you mind works, you may not feel guilty but deep down you still feel bad for doing that to Payton because you don't want it to happen to you" she says. I hate it when she somewhat right.

"I guess your right. Oh my mum told me my dads getting evicted. She gave a statement to the police and everything and they said it could be traumatising for him to be around when I'm home or something. " I say changing the subjects

"At least he will be gone. So how has the rest of you day been" she asks

Like always we talk for the next two hours. It goes by pretty quickly. Once the sessions over I go back to my dorm and get started on homework. I get interrupted by Payton walking into my room.

"I was waiting for you" he says taking a seat on my bed

"Sorry I forgot" I say but truth was I didn't want to see him

"Are you ok" he asks

"Yeah, you?" I ask back

"Yeah, are you sure everything's ok" he says

"I'm fine just doing homework" I say. He nods and starts watching tv.

Once I've finished my homework I pack my things up and put them away. I go to the kitchen and get a drink then spend time with the girls in the living room. Payton comes out of my room and sat next to me, after a little bit I go back to my room and he follows me.

"Are you sure your ok because it seems like your avoiding me. If you want me to go I will" he says

"No I don't want you to go, its just- never mind" I say cutting myself off

"You know you can tell me anything. What's wrong" he ask for like the hundredth time.

"I had a really realistic dream that you cheated on me with Loren. I guess I've been overthinking it because I'm scared it will happen" I tell him

"Kaden you know I wouldn't do that to you. Your all I want" He says

"I know" I say and he hugs me "I just don't want to lose you"

"You won't lose me, I promise" he says

Me and Payton watch tv, my head rested on his chest while he holds me in his arms. While we are watching tv my phone rings. I get up and go to my desk and answer the facetime call from Esther.

"Hey, how was today" I ask as answer the phone

"Shit, I hate it here. I started counselling today and it took everything in me not to kill that man" she says

"Its fine, you'll get out soon enough" I say

"I know, at least I have my phone now even if it is only for a few hours a day" she says "Where's Payton" she asks and I point the phone to him "Hey, remember I wont hesitate to kill you if you hurt her"

"I would never" he says kissing my forehead

"Ewww gross" she says and we laugh

We can't talk for long because she wants to talk to everyone back home before her times up.
