The steam from my hot coffee was flying up through the window. It was early in the morning Lola had woken me up.

I took a bite from my toast it had been sitting on my plate for a while so it tasted more like bread.
"So I've got to help a friend take her couches out of her apartment. I'll be back around 3... but after that we can hang out."
Lola said.

I stirred my spoon in my coffee.
"It's ok I need to start unpacking, I should find a small job here to."
Lola nodded coming over and kissing my cheek.

I laughed swatting her away, she walked out and then I was alone once again left with my thoughts and a very hot coffee which seemed to never cool down.

I never liked being alone, something I guess I'll have to get use to.

I mean it's my first day in New York I should explore it.

I got up and pored my coffee down the sink skipping back to my room. I took a long shower since I hadn't showered since a while...

I massaged some shampoo into my scalp. I thought about home and how I basically just got up and left Australia.

I should of told someone.
Stop trying to run away from your problems!
Your so selfish!
I shook my head clearing those thoughts as fast as I could.

I stepped out looking at my appearance in lolas gold mirror quite a pretty mirror to.

I forced a smile. Something I do quite a lot.
I dried off and put some blue jeans on and a yellow tank that was slightly washed out. I tied a yellow jumper around my shoulders loosely and added some black sun glasses. I clipped my blonde damp hair up and brought my yellow handbag.

I took my phone off charge.

Hey so I don't know if this is stupid, but I apparently have a day off from all the craziness that is my life. And I knew that your staying in New York. Would you like to meet up at a small cafe I go to some times? I'll be there anyway at 9:30. I hope I see you there.

I smiled, but this time I wasn't forcing myself to it just happened. In fact I couldn't wipe it from my pathetic face.

"I'd love to! I'd love to!"
I said out loud.

I swang my bag over my shoulder making sure to lock all the doors and ran out into the busy streets of New York.

I shrieked and walked faster seeing the photo.

My warn out nikes rubbing against my naked ankles. Reminding me about.
Flashback
The rain started pouring down, strange it doesn't rain so often in Sydney.
I ran fast down his street.
I'm not putting up with this I shouldn't have to.
"Come back here Amelia you stupid whore! You can't leave without me!"
I heard his voice.
Don't cry don't cry.
My nikes were giving my feet hell but I didn't care.
"Your going nowhere! Your just digging a deep hole you'll never get out of!"
I dropped down.
Flash back over
I approached the cafe the address gave me.
And sure enough I saw familiar curls.
