"can i open my eyes now?" taehyun asked, clearly growing impatient.

"no. we're almost there."

the younger knew that they were at the beach because he could feel himself walking on sand and the faint sounds of the waves crashing against the shore. although, he knew where they were, he couldn't help but think of what kind of surprise beomgyu had planned.

"what if you brought me here to drown me?" taehyun jokingly said and immediately felt the older squeezing his hand tightly. "hyun, why would you joke about that? i would never do that." both of them knew that it was a joke obviously, but beomgyu still didn't like the joke.

"sorry, sorry~"

"alright, we're here now." taehyun quickly fluttered his eyes opened, only to shut it back awardwards from the bright lighting. after a few seconds, his eyes adjusted to the lighting and he could finally see what the surprise was.

there was a picnic blanket laid down on the sand with a basket full of what seems to be food and there were fairy lights hung on the long sticks that were stuck onto the sand surrounding the cute picnic blanket for them to sit on.

taehyun's lips were slightly parted from how pretty it was. it was simple yet taehyun still thought that it was pretty. especially, when it looked like beomgyu had taken his time to do this just for him.

"i know it's not much, but i tried." the ravenette nervously said. he wasn't sure if the younger liked it or not. he wanted to do something simple and different yet special for taehyun. "do you.. like it...?"

"no." taehyun said, turning towards his boyfriend. "i love it." he smiled brightly before engulfing his boyfriend into a hug. beomgyu could finally release the breath that he didn't even know that he was holding in as he hugged the younger back.

"thank you, gyu. thank you so much..." taehyun muttered, nuzzling his head against the crooked of beomgyu's neck.

"save that for later. i'm hungry." the younger laughed at the older's words before letting go of the hug, so they could sit down on the picnic blanket together.

"gimbap? strawberry milk? why does this seem nostalgic almost." taehyun said as he took out the food from the picnic basket. beomgyu didn't answer, but instead, only smiled, cheekily.

"wait a minute..." taehyun paused, looking back at his boyfriend before cracking a smile. "well, aren't you sneaky?"

"i dunno what you're talking about." beomgyu smiled innocently as if he didn't purposely buy all of those same things that taehyun brought to the place they met.

for the next hour or so, they ate together while talking about the most random things and teasing each other. they were both now, sitting close to each other with taehyun's head rested on beomgyu's shoulder as they stared at the water.

"you know, i've never been to a beach before, so this is my first time." beomgyu glanced at his boyfriend, surprised to hear that. "really?" taehyun nodded, "i've only seen one by driving past it or in movies, but i've never been to one."

suddenly, beomgyu stood up, startling the younger.
