Doonah felt better with G.G. to back her up, not only because she didn't want to go alone, but because G.G. actually owned a van, in large part to be sure he could get his drum kit from gig to gig. Otherwise she'd be trying to do surveillance relying on other app service drivers to get her around.
Doonah made some small talk with G.G. as they took the freeway to their destination in Hollywood. They'd met through Root before they teamed up and became a band, but she really didn't know much about him.
"G.G., what do you do to pay for living in our building? I mean, for me it's been music lessons."
G.G. didn't answer.
"It's okay if you don't want to answer," she finally said. "But I'd love to know more about you. Anything."
"Well," he said shyly. "I'm serious about someone. Root knew it. We'd gotten into a fight because I told him I might have to quit to move in with my girl and make it all official. I want to be a husband and father, Doonah. I want to do it right."
"That's a very admirable goal for the future, G.G."
"Hmm. Did you really not notice what was going on around you? I'm Tayzha's baby daddy."
