"Why did he never tell us?" Doonah whispered.
Almost as if he knew they were listening, Root answered the question, but more likely in fear of his life.
"I found a new group. We're getting our sound together."
The manager pounded his fist into the desk. Doonah and G.G. jumped, startled.
"But they're not the band I heard!"
Doonah signaled to G.G. with her hand to head down the hallway. He nodded. Once they got outside, Doonah explained her reasoning.
"He only wanted us to use us," Doonah said. "I don't think we should bail him out. And you, G.G., you have too much at stake. Root needs to solve his own problems."
"We don't know the whole story, Doonah."
"You can go back if you want. I'm just sorry now I ever got curious. I'll find a ride home "
Doonah heard G.G. sigh.
"No, Doonah. I'll take you."
