Chapter 31: New Beginnings

Where are you? Don't tell me you overslept again!
Bumalikwas ako nang bangon pagkabasa ko ng mensahe ng kaibigan ko. I then kicked the comforter out of my body. Agad akong nagsepilyo at naligo.
Habang binabasa ko ng tubig ang katawan ko ay iniisip ko ang naiinis niyang mukha. Ang cute pa naman niya kapag galit, kamukha ni Miku Nakano ng Quintessential Quintuplets.
I changed into a small black dress. It has a plunging neckline and thin straps. The silky material is tight over my full breasts and flares into a very short mini-skirt, which I wore with a black high heels.
"Over here!" Kumaway siya habang kausap niya ako sa phone. Kaharap niya sa four-chaired table si Miss Eleanor Aboitiz, ang investor ng negosyo naming apat na magkakaibigan.
Napaatras ako. "Hindi mo sinabing kasama mo si Miss Aboitiz. I'm not dressed formally," asik ko sa kanya.
Nakita ko ang pagkilos ng kamay niyang itinuturo ang direksiyon ko kay Miss Aboitiz. I even saw my friend laugh. "Fuck you, MJ. Nakakahiya 'tong suot ko. Magpapalit lang ako." Lalakad na sana ako ngunit pinigilan niya ako.
"Don't! You're gorgeous nga raw, e."
Pumihit ako paharap sa kanila and Miss Aboitiz motions for me to approach them. Sumunod naman ako sa kanya. Mabini akong naglakad palapit sa kanila.
They are in the restaurant's southern section, overlooking Mactan Airport. "It's great to see you again, Ma'am." I said, holding out my hand. She gladly shakes it with a warm hand, as she always does.
She is one of the panels in our business plan defense, and after we delivered it, she became so interested that she offered us a deal. She immediately invested a large sum of money. Our business plan was even named the best in our batch at the Students Awards Days.
And right now, after graduating, I'm preparing to travel abroad for my chef journey, with Miss Aboitiz as my sponsor. My three friends decided to run our restaurant in Moalboal.
"Are you ready to embark on your new adventure, Skye?" malambing na tanong ni Miss Aboitiz. She's friendly, despite being in her mid-sixties and charming and poised. She radiated timeless beauty and grace.
"Medyo kinakabahan po," sagot ko.
She reaches for my right hand and lightly squeezes it. "It's normal, ganyan din ako noong lumayo ako para tahakin ang mga pangarap ko. I could tell you areq nervous, but I know you can do it."
Marie Jane just smiled at us.
"I appreciate the opportunity and your trust, Ma'am," kiming sabi ko.
She laughed gracefully, her eyes smiling at me. "Sabi ko naman sa inyo, you can call me Tita. Dean Arnaiz is a close friend of mine, and I heard he's your Ninong."
Tumango ako. "He's also a friend of my parents, Ma'am."
Nang malaman kong nanalo ang business plan namin ay kinompronta ko kaagad si Ninong. However, he stated that our BP made it and that he did not pull any strings.
"Anyway, I still have to catch a flight. I just hitchhike with MJ to see you." Tumingin siya sa orasan niyang Panthère de Cartier. She rose up to her feet gracefully and approached me. Bumeso siya sa akin maging sa kaibigan ko. "I'm so sorry, but I really need to leave." Hinawakan niya ang kamay ko at tumitig sa akin. "Skye, take the path you want. I believe in you." Muli niyang pinisil ng marahan ang palad ko at nagdulot iyon ng kasiglahan sa puso ko.
"Thank you for stopping by, Ma'am," I said.
"Tita!" she corrected me.
"Tita," I said, with a small laugh.
