Growing up I have always loved watching the animated and live action Scooby Doo series, from the mysteries to the characters each and every aspect drew me in and I had loved every second of it so during a Thursday night while watching Scooby Doo 2 : Monsters Unleashed I had the idea to create an almost modern and teenage version of the iconic tale, so I began developing the story, and I called multiple people who I knew loved the series growing up what they would want to see in these characters and what they thought should be in a story like this, and so with the help of my friends I came up with this blood-curdling tale based off of Daphne’s perspective.
I had originally wanted to go with a third person themed story of this Scooby Doo inspired novel, but then I found that as I wrote I felt more drawn to Daphne as a writer, and she was the character I closely related with growing up, so I scraped everything and began writing in Daphne’s point of view, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome.
I do hope you all enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed bringing the story to life through my writing and thank you all for taking your time in giving this book a chance.
Thank you to everyone who helped me bring this book to life and gave me bits and pieces of advice to build the story and the characters along with it, I could not have done this without your encouragement and your help, but specifically thank you to Liam, Dylan, Alex, Mia J, Jason, Mia F, Dominic and my brothers Matthew and Zac for helping me come up with the idea for my first chapter, thus beginning my story my friend Tumelo, for staying up with me for hours trying to make the characters and story the best it could be, and my friends Mairead, Tumi, Ashleigh, Taskeen, Gabriella and many more for encouraging me to write the story and always inspiring me to follow my dreams and aspirations no matter what.
