Chapter 39: i like you

Travis's PoV

As I walked down the street, I slowly started to regret my decision.

I know that Im too scared to tell him, but I still want to try.

I took a deep breath, as I got closer to zane's house.

I knocked on the door once I finally reached it.

But no reply...

I noticed that the door had been left open and decided to go inside.

Maybe it was wrong to just walk into his house,
But what if something happened to him? and if he went out he would have locked the door.

right?

I heard noises coming from upstairs.

Slowly, I walked up to see if it was him.

I heard sobs coming from his room and knew that he was in there.

But why was he crying?

"Zane..." I knocked on his door

The sobbing seemed to stop for a second before continuing.

"Go away!" He shouted

I tried to open his bedroom door but it was locked.

"Zane...what's wrong?" I asked

"It's non of your business, just go away," he cried again

I sighed, leaning my back against his door and sitting down.

Everything was silent for a few minutes until I heard a faint whisper.

"Travis..."

"Yeah," I answered, quietly

"Why are you still here?" He asked

"Why wouldn't I be?" I questioned

He remained silent for awhile.

"I...don't know," he said

"Zane...open the door," I said

"Why?" He asked

"I want to tell you something," I said

"Why can't you just tell me with the door closed?" he questioned

"Because I want to see your face," I said, simply

I heard the door click and I turned around.

Soon I was face to face with Zane.

His eyes were full with tears and his face was tear stained. He had no mask on and I could see that his cheeks were red and puffy, it was obvious he's been crying for awhile.

The sight of him like this made me sad, I wanted to just hug him, which is exactly what I did.

I pulled the small, raven haired boy closer to me, wrapping my arms around him tightly.

"What's wrong Zane?" I asked, speaking in a soft, gentle tone

I didn't hear a reply, but I heard sniffling for awhile then complete silence.

I smiled down at him, his watery eyes looking back at me, before I stood up.

Still holding Zane in my arms, I carried him over to his bed and laid him down.

I sat besides him for awhile.

"Travis?" He said, quietly

"Mhm" I hummed in response

"What did you need to tell me?" He asked, rubbing his eyes

I smiled.

"I like you Zane," I said

"You like me?" He questioned

I nodded, smiling at his confused response.

"Zane," I said, as I leaned closer to him

"I love you," I whispered in his ear

I watched as his eyes widened and a look
of shocked plastered his face.

He didn't say anything for awhile. He just sat there in shock.

"I love you too," he finally whispered back
