Sweet melodies flew through the room as Holland's fingers strummed away on the guitar in her lap, her back pressed up against her headboard. She cringed as she hit a note she didn't like, switching it up as she tried out a few tunes, the sun outside her window beginning to fall below the trees as night set in.
"This is the last time I'm asking you this, put my name at the top of your list," Holland's voice was light as she sang, liking the words as she wrote them down in the notebook before her. She stared at them for a moment, writing follow up lyrics before returning to her guitar. "This is the last time I'm asking you why, you break my heart in the blink of an eye, eye, eye."
Holland stared down at the words for a moment before leaning over her guitar, inspiration flowing through her as she continued to write, words filling the page right before her eyes. She sat back, a small smile on her face as she brought her fingers back to the strings of her guitar.
"You find yourself at my door, just like all those times before. You wear your best apology, but I was there to watch you leave," Holland's voice grew louder, full of passion and emotion as she sang. "And all the times I let you in, just for you to go again. Disappear when you come back, everything is better."
"Oh my god, you're amazing,"
Holland Richmond let out an ear spitting scream, holding a hand to her heart as she saw Reggie, Alex and Luke standing now on the other side of her room, two of the boys laughing at her as she tried to calm her heart that was beating rapidly now in her chest. Luke was just staring at her, awestruck, as he was pretty sure he had just listened to the voice of an angel.
"This random poofing thing with no warning?" Holland gestured wildly at the boys as she sat her guitar on the floor, leaning it up against her best. "It really has to stop before Julie or I have a heart attack."
"It's so fun though!" Reggie complained as Luke fell belly first onto Holland's bed, grabbing hold of her notebook as he read through the lyrics she had just sang.
"You've literally only wrote two verses of this song and it's amazing," he looked up at her with another awestruck grin. "And your voice...I mean, whoa."
Holland bit her bottom lip, having to look away from Luke as the only thing that flashed through her mind was the image of him from earlier in the studio.
"What I think he's trying to say," Alex chimed in as he sat on top of her desk. "Is that you're really good."
"I was just playing around with something, it was nothing-"
"Holland? You okay?"
Holland's eyes went wide at the sound of her mom's voice as she motioned for the boys to keep quiet, trying to act natural as her mother opened the door to her bedroom.
"Yeah, mom I'm okay," she told her with a grin as her mother walked further into the room, looking down at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, so that scream wasn't you getting murdered by someone?"
