Okay, so MidnightRose wants this to be out quickly, so I'm working on it now. She can be demanding, but I love her anyway. And I'm sorry the last one was wicked short, but I wanted to start chapter seven here. Oh and just a heads up for whoever read the "The Lone She-Wolf" trilogy... the first part of the second story will be out on Friday!

"Shift," I told Nick. He did as he was told and I followed suit.

Soon, he was a gorgeous black wolf that I could now picture in my mind even if he wasn't near me. I became a beautiful white wolf with golden-amber eyes. It was strange how we were such opposites in color and a lot of other things, too. Yet, he still stuck by me. He seemed to be a determined guy. But what he was determined for, I didn't know. I could only hope that he wasn't a hunter.

Deep down, I knew he wasn't. Something inside me told me he was different and my instincts told me not to worry. So, like usual, I listened to my instincts.

"Where are we going?" he asked me.

"I told you we are going for a run," I said as I began trotting away from my hideout.

"Yeah, I know that," Nick said in an annoyed tone. "But where are we running to?"

Abruptly, I stopped and looked at him. When he noticed that I'd stopped, he came back to my side. "You don't have to have a destination if you want to go on a run," I said. "Don't you ever just shift and run just to loosen up and be a wolf?"

"No," he said. "I only use my wolf when I train, fight, or need to get somewhere quickly."

I rolled my eyes. The werewolves have completely abused their ability and forgotten the meaning of it. They just use them to fight to control land and think of their wolves as a source of power. It sickened me to know that we've lost ourselves into a blood-thirsty generation.

Yes, I know I shouldn't be talking when I am at their level. But trust me, by taking a step back, I'll be taking ten steps forward. Females needed a say in our society. It shouldn't be so archaic anymore.

"We've really lost our touch," I told him. "We're wolves not to fight over land and population and stuff like that. We're wolves to relate with the forest and bring us together. Not tear us apart." I started to run again.

"It's seems like you're trying to do just that," Nick told me quietly.

I sighed and glanced at him. "No one knows what I'm after. It's not what you think either."

"Do you even know what you're after?"

What? Of course I did. I was after equality among our society. It's not like I was just doing this to be a sick, heinous monster. I was after something to help us, to set our world straight, but did I really want this?

The answer was yes. I was doing this for my baby sister. For Natalie. The moment I saw her, I knew she was just like me. If I didn't do this, she would've. She would've become the killer because she wouldn't like to be stereotyped. I didn't want her to feel trapped like I did. I wanted her world to be perfect for her.

"I know what I have to do," I said to Nick. "I know who needs this."

He sighed and didn't say anything after that. For the whole time, we ran in silence. Just going around the forest in no particular pattern. The forest path crunched beneath our paws as we loped through the late summer air. From time to time, I would see Nick glance at me, but I ignored it.

When we finally returned to the hideout. It was getting late and to be honest, I was tired. I knew there were still some things that I needed to talk to Nick about. So, I just decided to go with the rules. I shifted as did he. I walked into the cave, and he followed.

Finally, I turned to him. He watched me as I began to speak. "I'm going to explain some things to you," I told him and he nodded. "First of all, if you are going to follow me and stick with me like a parasite, you need to follow my rules."

"Ouch," he muttered. "So, I'm a disease to you?"

I smirked. "Yup," I said as I continued. "First, you sleep outside and don't complain about it."

"Got it," he said calmly. Weird. I'd be pissed if I were him, but I moved on.

"Second. When I tell you you can't follow me, then you stay here, no matter what."

"What if there's a fire burning everything to the ground?" he asked.

I rolled my eyes. "Then stay as close to the hideout as you can without dying. Oh, and get as much of my stuff out as you can  before the fire consumes it all."

He shrugged. "What if-"

"That's enough," I said. "Now moving on. I will give you food, water, clothes, and money and stuff like that, but you can't have any electronics and can't use a phone or e-mail. If you do, you either leave for good, or I kill you."

"All right," he said.

"That's it," I told him as I walked to one of the crates. I pulled out some more water, a pot, and a box of ziti. There wasn't anything to flavor it with, but it's better than nothing. I've learned to make sacrifices a long time ago. Nick should, too.

After starting a fire and boiling the water, I added the ziti. I gave Nick a water while he watched the fire in silence. When the ziti was done, I took out a strainer and pour the water and ziti into it. He still watched in silence as the water spilled through the strainer.

I gave him a bowl of ziti and he started to eat with me. Not once did he say a word and that bugged the crap out of me. I would just want a minute to figure out what the hell was going through his mind. I mean, it was so frustrating.

Once the two of us were finished, Nick went outside. I secretly watched as he shifted and lay down beneath a tree. He put his head in his paws and closed his eyes. Though, I knew he wasn't sleeping yet.

Then, I sighed and went to my sleeping bag. I removed my clothes and put on  a large, white cotton shirt. Soon, I was in my own sleeping bag with my eyes close as well. Like Nick, I didn't yet fall asleep, I just thought.

Mostly I thought about what we'd talked about today. I couldn't help but feel that this was going to end badly. Still, I couldn't allow myself to be distracted. I needed to focus on my mission and Nick would just follow me.

I decided it didn't matter. Tomorrow was a new day and I'd be moving out toward the next pack. Whether Nick follow me or not, was up to him. Still I couldn't help but pray that he made the decision I wanted him to.

That night, I fell asleep with my thoughts jumbled in my mind.
