You exit the dinner across the street from the motel, but you pause noticing something. Across the street, Sam is being hauled into a SWAT car. Your eyes widen and you drop the bag of food, and dart away hoping no one saw you as she ran.

"Fuck!" You whispered whispered harshly.

Sam paced the room beside a window, his thoughts running wild. A female police officer sets a cup of coffee down in front of him, "Thought you might be thirsty." She said.

Sam looked over at her "Okay, so you're the good cop. Where's the bad cop?" He asked.

"Oh, he's with your brother." She answered.

"Okay. And you're holding us why?" Sam asked.

"Well, he's being held on suspicion of murder, and helping a felon. And you, we'll see." The officer said.

"Murder?! And helping a felon?!" Sam exclaimed, forcing out some shock.

"You sound genuinely surprised. Or are you that good of an actor?" The officer asked.

"Who was he supposed to have murdered?! And what felon did he supposedly help?" Sam asked.

"We'll get around to that." She said.

"Well, you can't just hold us here without formal charges!" Sam shouted.

"Well actually, we can, for forty eight hours, but you being a pre-law student, would know that. I know all about you, Sam." The officer said, a small smirk on her face.

Sam surpassed and eye roll, he just hoped that y/n was okay. And she'd find a way to help them out of here, he continued his pacing.

"You're twenty three years old, no job, no home address. Your mother died when you were a baby, your father's whereabouts are unknown. And then there's the case of your brother Dean. Whose demise was, well, just a little bit exaggerated. And then Y/n Singer, her demise was also very exaggerated. Her whereabouts unknown to us. Feel free to jump in whenever you like." The officer said, reading from a file.

Sam stayed silent, glaring at the floor as he paced. He then stopped, and leaned against the wall crossing his arms over his chest.

"Shy? No problem. I'll keep going. Your family moved around a lot when you were a kid. Despite that, you were a straight-A student. Got into Stanford with a full ride." She then closed the folder, "Then about a year ago there was a fire in your apartment. One fatality. Jessica Moore, your girlfriend. After she died, you fell off the grid. Left behind everything."

"I needed some time off. To deal. So I'm taking a road trip with my brother. And Y/n, she joined us on the trip. We're old family friends, she heard what happened and wanted to help cheer me up. " Sam lied.

"How's that going for you?" The officer asked.

"Great. I mean... we saw the second largest ball of twine in the continental US. Awesome." Sam grumbled, he pulls up a chair and sits down.

"We ran Dean's fingerprints through AFIS." She said.

"Okay." Sam deadpanned.
