Hey guys! Sorry for the delay.

Hope this little teaser makes up for it.

Slight sexual content and language.

Also, I'm thinking of making the chapters a little bit longer, unless anyone think's they're okay just the way they are.

"A present?" I looked over to the flowers again, thinking how sweet that was of him. "Oh! You mean the flowers? Yeah, that's really thoughtful of you actually. No one's ever given me flowers." I don't know the first thing about them but they were beautiful. My cheeks warmed.

Kai smirked. "No, the flowers are an apology. Or at least the start of one." He pulled something from out of his back pocket and handed it to me.

I stared down at the black box with the picture of the prettiest iPhone I had ever seen in confusion. "Kai, what-"

"This is your present. Finally, a decent phone instead of that old shitty one."

"Hey, that old one worked just fine!" I said a little too defensively. Still staring at the box in my hands. There's no way I can keep this thing. "Kai, I can't accept this." I tried handing it back to him but he refused.

"Evie. I promised you a new phone. So I got you a new phone. You can't go around New York without one." He firmly pushed my hands back.

"Yeah, but there's no way I can ever pay you back for this! This is expensive! And I hate people wasting money on me. Makes me feel bad." I fidgeted with the box, secretly hating myself for being greedy because I was starting to really like it already. I have to keep telling myself that I can't keep it.

But it's so pretty... and shiny... and new...

Kai took the box from me, pulled out a pocket knife and cut the plastic wrap off. "And how do you know how much I spent?" He tore off the wrapping and walked into my kitchen to throw it away in the trash can. "Besides, it's my money. I can spend it however I want."

"Must be nice." I mumbled. He cast me a sideways glance as he popped the lid off.

"It's not the newest model, but it's still really good." He started pulling out the pieces inside one by one, saving the actual phone for last and pushing the button and suddenly the screen lit up, white logo appearing in the middle.

"Is it... stolen?" I asked, dubiously. Kai froze for a second. A slow smile coming over his face.

Why did I ask that?

I mentally facepalmed myself.

"No. I did not get it illegally. It's legit. Besides, if it was stolen, they'd be able to track you down in no time." He started getting the settings done for me, tilting the screen so I could watch him. "And you are too cute to do time in jail, Sweetheart. You're just not cut out for it." He winked.

I feigned innocence. "Me? But I'd tell them it was all your idea!" I teased, playfully smacking his arm.

He looked down at where I made contact and smiled again.

The phone finished it's updates and the screen came to life, Kai took the liberty of adding his number into my contacts.

He handed it back to me once he finished. "All done."

I had to admit, it was really neat to have a smartphone finally. I was starting to think I was the last person in the world that needed to catch up with today's times.
