sometimes people smile to protect themseleves. if they dont show their sadness, they wont be forced to open up. they can keep themselves safe in their own bubble without needing to rely on others.
that doesnt mean the smile is real, it sometimes just serves the purpose of being a barrier.
it might not be a good day, or an eventful one, but to prevent it from being a bad one, they show the world they are okay.
even if they arent.
