KILL ME!!

WHY DIDN'T I SEE THIS COMING!!

I look at the massive amount of paper and books in front of me, and my stomach starts to ache just looking at this disgusting pile.

That godforsaken study maniac.

If I ever get the chance, I'm getting back at that bastard Orpheus!

Just the memory of his smile when he gave me so much advanced work, just because I showed I was smarter than the average 6-year-old! Why didn't I realize this was why he was smiling to himself the last time we met for a lesson! That isn't a teacher, that's the devil!

Hahh...

As I continue to work on my homework that's due by the next class session, I remember what we discussed in class, as it's been on my mind for a while these past few days.

...

"If what you told me is true, then there's only one thing that comes to mind that fits what you're telling me."

Orpheus had a serious look on his face as he looked back at me after I had told him about what happened when I fainted, though I didn't go into too much detail about what I saw.

"What you probably experienced was the consequences of coming in contact with Dark Magic."

"Dark Magic?"

"Yes. It's magic that's forbidden by the state and church. Mainly only demons use dark magic, though some people sell their soul to perform dark magic. However, those people are usually branded as heretics by the church. There is no good end for anybody that practices dark magic."

After hearing the last part, a chill was sent down my spine as I remembered a setting in the original game. The villainess, Violet, was a dark magic-user. She wasn't talented in shadow magic, but because shadow magic and dark magic are hard to differentiate, nobody realized it. She had also only used it for petty and little things, so she was never caught either.

The problem is that she's always been able to use dark magic. She didn't sell her soul and she isn't a demon either. Just the fact that she can use it is already a bad sign for her survival, but this is a setting in the game that I can't even change or prevent.

Hahh...

There's already another problem I have to figure out how to solve...

"How come I fainted for coming in contact with dark magic?"

"That's mainly only because you are just more sensitive to magic. Dark magic fundamentally clashes with normal magic. Since you are in a sensitive stage in your training, and you are personally just more sensitive to magic, you'll be affected more by this clash. When you came into contact with it, the magic in your body basically became scrambled up, and it caused pressure on your magic points. If it's really bad, your whole body could explode from the chaos."

I grew paler than I already am, hearing the last part. How can you say that so easily, teacher!?

"Luckily, you only came into contact with a trace of it, so you only had some small side effects. You'll feel nauseous, then faint, and experience your worst nightmare. Although it's mentally stressful, it's harmless. Anyways, shall we begin today's lesson?"

...

Anyway, it was a lot to take in.

However, it explained a lot of different things, like why there were Magic Tower magicians at the estate before.

Also including the fact about what I saw when I fainted. So, that truly was a nightmare... huh...

I don't know what I was expecting... I guess I was still hoping that this was all just a dream, and when I woke up, I would be back in my old world...
