You lean back in your chair, bored. You have no idea what to do. You hear grunting from outside, as if someone is trying to lift something very heavy. Then you hear a crash.

“Damn it!” Engineer exclaims. You rise from your seat and peek your head outside. Engineer is on the ground with various metal scattered around him. He grabs a box that is on its side and rights it, starting to put it back in the box. You step outside. “Do you need some help?” You ask the Texan. He sighs and says, “If you could spare the time.” You stoop down and pick up some metal to help him out. As you grab the last couple of scraps, you cut your finger and drop all of it. “Ow!” You cry, sucking your finger. “Are you alright?” Engineer gasps. You nod and respond, “Yeah, I’m fine. Just a little cut.” You continue carefully putting the scraps of metal in the box. Engineer stands and tries to bring the box with him. He falls again, this time making sure that its contents stayed in their container. “Need some help, Engi?” Scout teases from behind you. “Oh, put a sock in it, Scout.” You scold. He snickers and walks away with his muffin. “Don’t listen to him, Engi. He’s just pulling your rope.” You assure the Texan. He shrugs. “Could ya help me get this to the shop?” He asks. You smile and agree. You and Engineer stand and put both your fingers under the box. You blush as his hand accidentally lands on top of yours. He quickly draws it back. With great effort, you eventually get the box to the workshop.

You sit on a table, swinging your dangling feet. You watch Engineer work with great interest. “You best be headed off,” Engineer says after a while. You jump down and hang on his broad shoulders. You stare up at him pleadingly. “But I’m so bored!” You complain. Then you give him your best puppy eyes. “Oh, now don’t- don’t do that…” Engineer sighs. “Well, alright. But you gotta stay off that table. It’s not safe.” “I will!” You promise happily. You gaze as he expertly welds together a few pieces of metal. But you aren’t just staring in his direction because you want to know what he’s doing. “What are you building?” You ask, unable to contain your curiosity. “I’m workin’ on a new sentry, darlin’. You wanna help?” He turns and faces you, smiling. You back away, blushing. “N-no, that’s okay.” “Well, if that’s want the lady wants, she can have it.” Engineer turns his back and continues working. “You’re so sweet,” You accidentally think out loud. You cover your mouth when he turns to face you again. He stands and walks over toward you. “Well, thanks, doll. You ain’t so bad yourself.” He leans forward and kisses your cheek. He goes back to his sentry. “You better have Medic take a look at that cut o’ yours. This metal ain’t exactly clean.” Engineer advises. “You’re right. Bye!” You call over your shoulder. You feel your heart sink at the thought of leaving. You are downright disappointed he sent you away by the time you reach Medic’s lab, where the German is working vigorously.
