(A/N! I do apologize about how short the 3rd year went by, but in 4th year I feel as if there will be more opportunities for things to happen!)
Blaise and you boarded the Hogwarts express, you were amazed at how quickly the year seemed to go by.
You strode through the isle of the train and found an empty compartment, getting in it and sitting right by the window, Blaise taking the seat across from you. "That year went by quickly." He commented, you flashed him a smile and got up to sit beside him, leaning your head on his shoulder. "I couldn't agree more." You said with a grin. Blaise and you got very close over this past year, he was always there for you when you needed, he was your bestfriend after all. "Blaise-" You started but were quickly interrupted by someone opening the compartment door. "Draco?" Blaise questioned, he didn't reply. "All the other compartments are full." He stated and shot you a wink, which you think Blaise saw. You and Draco haven't spoken since that night in the empty potions classroom and didn't really want to speak to him. Blaise noticed how uncomfortable you were "I can help you find one, Y/N and I were actually in the middle of something." he lied before taking Draco out of the compartment. It was about 5 minutes until Blaise returned, "Found him a compartment with Pansy, she loved that." he smiled, you laughed a little and patted the seat beside you where Blaise was once sitting, for him to come sit once more. He came and sat beside you "Now, what were you trying to tell me?" he asked and you felt your heart beat out of your chest. "I really-" You started but stopped yourself, What if this ruins our friendship? "You can tell me, Y/N, you know I wont judge." He promised, you felt a little more relaxed. "I've had a confusing year but I think I really like you, Blaise." You said nonchalantly, he didn't reply. "I'm sorry," You mumbled but he shook his head vigorously. "I like you too, Y/N, but I don't want feelings getting in the way of our friendship." You were at a loss for words, "I agree," you finally decided "I like what we have right now." you smiled either though he probably couldn't see it.
Blaise shook you awake, "Y/N? We're at the platform." he said softly. You blinked a few times before standing up and nodding. "Sorry," You apologized to Blaise, who looked to you with worry. "For what?" He questioned, you just smiled a little "falling asleep." you finished and he just laughed.
Blaise and you waited at the platform looking for your family, "I see my parents." you pointed and waved to your parents. He took you in a tight hug, "Make sure to owl me whenever you get the chance?" he said, you nodded as he released you. "I promise!" You said before running to your parents, dragging your luggage behind you, "Mother, father!" you exclaimed before hugging your parents, you really missed them. "Your owl, Y/N?" Your mother questioned, you had forgotten about Salem. "I let him fly home, he'd enjoy it more than being locked up in a cage." You explained, your mother nodding. "Let's get home," Your father said, offering your mother and you his arm, you quickly grabbed your bag and held onto his arm tight. You apparated into the living room of your house, the fire crackling and your owl swooping into the house and perching himself on your shoulder. "He's smart, that one." Your mother smiled, before giving you a more stern look "Your father and I have important work at the ministry, here are the keys to our vault at Gringotts if you need anything, just ask Bea if you need anything." she said swiftly, your happy expression faded. They had promised they wouldn't be working a lot this summer, you were excited to spend time with them. "We love you," Your dad said, "Owl us if you need, dear." they said before embracing you in a hug and taking small handfuls of floo powder each, stepping into the fire place and saying clearly "Ministry of Magic." and they were gone.
"Bea?" You called and your house elf appeared in front of you, "Hello, master L/N, welcome home." the elf said warmly. You smiled to it, "I've told you not to call me that, you can call me Y/N. I hate the formality." you told the house elf, and it looked confused but quickly nodded. "Do you need Bea to bring your luggage to your room and unpack for you, Y/N?" Bea asked, hesitating before saying your name, "Yes please." you grinned to the elf, it grabbed your things and snapped, disappearing. You looked through cabinets for parchment and a quill, finding it in the last cabinet you looked.Dear, Blaise
I've returned home now, both my parents are at the Ministry, they said they didn't know how long they'd be there for but it will probably end up being the whole summer. I miss you already, come by whenever!Sincerely,
Y/N L/NYou scribbled and handed it to your owl, "I know you're probably tired, but could you take this to Blaise for me?" you spoke to it. It looked reluctant but flew out the window it just recently came in through to bring your letter to Blaise.
You weren't excited to spend the summer on your own.(A/N!! I published this chapter on November 9th, 2020 and I've just added songs from one of my playlists on the disclaimers "chapter" so if you're reading this any later you may have seen it already but if you haven't you should check it out!)
