You and Daphne were getting ready for your dates, it was the night of the Yule ball and you had to admit, you were excited. "Y/N, you don't know how glad I am you're attending!" She said happily while helping you with your makeup, you didn't really wear makeup aside from mascara and lip gloss.
She finished and showed you yourself in the mirror and you beamed "You really outdid yourself, Daph." you said and the both of you giggled. Your makeup was simple, concealer, mascara, lip gloss, blush and eyeliner, Daphne was really good.
You started to do your hair while Daphne did her makeup. You did a low bun and pulled out a few strands of hair in the front, some hair falling messily from the bun.

Daphne finished getting ready and the two of you left, arms interlocked to the ball.
Once you arrived, the two of you split and you felt a pair of eyes on you and turned to see who it was. "You look," He started and looked you up and down "truly breathtaking." he finished and you beamed, he took your hand in his as you were about to walk out in front of everyone. "Thank you, Ced." You mumbled while the two of you walked out hand in hand, Harry went with Cho, you saw them earlier but you couldn't find Draco.
You did spot Pansy who gave you a thumbs up and smile before Cedric and you began to dance, the champions and their dates had to start the dance.
Eventually, more people joined in but you didn't really notice, you were focused on Cedric and only him. He stopped dancing and cupped your face softly "I'm really glad you agreed to come with me," he said before leaning down to kiss you. You had to admit, he was a great kisser, that being an understatement. Once the both of you breathlessly pulled away Cedric and you walked hand in hand to get drinks. "I'm glad I agreed to come with you too." You beamed at him and he squeezed your hand "Look," he discreetly pointed to Pansy, behind her you spotted Draco and giggled "You're kidding!" you said through laughter and Cedric smiled to you "He came with Parkinson? He must've been really desperate for a date." you said before Cedric pulled you over to them. "Ced, what're you doing?" You whisper yelled while he dragged you over, no reply. Draco raised and eyebrow but Pansy just smirked "Hi, Pansy." you smiled to her and she surprisingly smiled back. "So you did go with Diggory?" Draco spat, trying to sound nonchalant about it, you squeezed Cedrics hand "That's how it appears." Cedric said sarcastically and Draco scoffed, Pansy started to try pulling him away but he just pushed her off. "L/N, let's talk." He said, it wasn't an offer, it was a demand. You let go of Cedrics hand and followed Draco away, "He's not even in Slytherin!" Draco whisper yelled, you figured he was talking about Cedric "I know?" you said and smirked to Draco. "I was actually going to ask you to the ball." He said very matter-of-factly "Harry asked me as well, but I decided to go with Cedric." you explained and Dracos face contorted in rage, "Nice chat, cya, Malfoy!" you said with a smile before he could say anything and went back to Cedric. "He wanted to point out to me that you're a Hufflepuff," You stated and began to laugh, Cedric beamed "Great observation." he said sarcastically and nodded. "Dance?" He asked and you nodded briskly, he took your hand and lead you onto the dance floor.
A band began to play, about an hour after they started many people had left, Cedric and you were just seated hand in hand watching everyone dance. "Did you figure out the egg?" You asked, meaning the egg he got from his first task "They're taking something from me, something important or valuable and hiding it in the bottom of the black lake." you frowned and squeezed his hand lightly. "We should go to the library tomorrow to find a charm for that," You suggested and he nodded "I want you to be careful, Ced." you told him slowly. "I promise," He assures you but you still weren't keen on him participating in this tournament "I don't want anything bad to happen to you, you heard Dumbledore say how dangerous it could be, Cedric." he just nodded and you saw his lips form into a small smile. "I don't see why you're Slytherin," He started and you just looked at him confused "you have traits from all four houses but certainly don't act like all the other Slytherins." you jokingly nudged his ribs. "Hey! Not all Slytherins are bad." You told him and he stood up, you stood up with him "You should get rest," he stated and you simply nodded "I'll walk you back to your common room?" he offered and you beamed "That would be great." you said in thanks.
Cedric and you walked in silence, hand in hand. It was that type affectionate silence, you thought that sometimes silence could speak volumes and you weren't wrong. Once you arrived to your common room door he cupped your face and leaned down, his lips brushed against yours softly before he stood up straight again. "I'll see you soon, N/N. Thank you for attending the ball with me, goodnight." He said and you beamed, slowly letting go of his hand when he began to walk away and entered your common room.
"Tell me all about it!" Daphne said, she sat in her bed and you sat on the end of it, still in your formal attire "There's not much to tell," you said and she shook her head in disagree. "well, he kissed me goodnight and thanked me for going with him." You said and shrugged "That's it?" Daphne whined and you smirked "He may have shown me off to Draco, he was pissed!" you said and Daphne giggled at what you had said. "How was your night with Blaise?" You asked and her face immediately lit up. Daphne told you every single detail, turns out Blaise asked her to be his girlfriend earlier that night, you knew they'd be perfect for eachother and you were truly overjoyed for your friends.
