Bea, your house elf, apparated you and your luggage to platform 9 1/3, the both of you running through and arriving to the gigantic crowd of people surrounded around the Hogwarts Express. "Good luck at school this year, Y/N!" The house elf smiled, you forced a smile back, you were really looking forward to spending time with your parents this summer but you hardly saw them. "I'll miss you, Bea." You admitted, patting the house elf lightly before leaving to get on the train. You spent most of your time with Bea over the summer, she was good company.
You found yourself wandering down the isles of the compartment, remembering your first time on the Hogwarts Express when you were 11, it felt like yesterday. A familiar platinum blond opened his compartments door for you and you stepped in, shutting it behind you. You and Draco had been sending owls back and forth over the summer, he took you into his embrace and you hugged him back, not even realizing who was behind him. "Blaise!" You shrieked happily and rushed into his arms, hugging him tightly. "It's been too long." He smiled and you started to laugh, "Bloody hell, has your voice gotten deep!" you realized he now towered over you, more than he used to. "Oh wow," You mumbled "you've grown!" you exclaimed, happy to see your friends again. You turned to Draco and realized he was much taller than Blaise, "The both of you." Draco smiled at your acknowledgment of him. The three of them broke out into conversation until you heard a knock on the compartment door, you beamed as they walked in and slid the door shut. "Cedric!" You greeted him and gave him a hug, he was still the same but that's because he's three years older. "Got room for one more?" He asked smiling and sitting down, you sitting next to him which Draco didn't seem to pleased about, but you didn't care. Cedric told you all about his summer, since you didn't owl him much.
Before you knew it, you were at Hogwarts, that felt like the shortest ride ever! You and your three friends got into a carriage that seemed to pull itself, Draco made sure to sit next to you leaving Blaise and Cedric to sit beside each other. "I'm so happy to be back," You said to no one in particular, "Me as well," Blaise replied "my summer was rather boring without you." you shot him a smile and noticed Cedric was grinning, staring at you and taking in all your intricate features. Draco wrapped his arm around you and smirked at Cedric, you knew it was to make him jealous but if Draco wanted something, he was set on it. You mouthed the words 'I'm sorry!' to Cedric who just smiled and nodded. In the great hall, you sat with Blaise beside you and Draco, Gregory and Vincent across from you. "Hello," You heard a soft voice say and you turned around, realizing the unfamiliar girl was speaking to you "I'm Daphne Greengrass." she spoke warmly, Ohhh! You remembered seeing her around your common room sometimes, she was in your year but you never spent much attention to her. "Sit?" You offered and motioned to the empty spot next to you, she sat and the two of you spoke for awhile until Dumbledore started his speech.
He went on talking about something called the Triwizard Tournament and how Hogwarts was hosting it? Only 17 and older were allowed to sign up, you were hoping Cedric wouldn't, it sounded dangerous. "Y/N? Are you going to eat?" Blaise asked you, you nodded, you were so lost in your own thoughts you didn't even realize the food has appeared. "I'm actually not hungry," You said, standing up, "I need to talk to Cedric, see you all later." you shot your friends a forced smile before getting up and leaving to the Hufflepuff table. Cedric watched you walk over with a smile on his face, engaging in conversation with his friends but making sure to glance to you every few seconds "Ced?" you said urgently, "I'll be back soon." he said to his friends and nodded a goodbye to them. Cedric put his hand on your lower back as the two of you walked out of the great hall, you pulled him over to a staircase and sat down "What's wrong?" he questioned and you sighed. "You're not entering, are you?" You asked with lots of concern in your voice, "Actually, I was." he admitted. "Cedric, you can't!" You said, panic stricken "Y/N," he started and sat down next to you on the stairs. "nothing bad will happen to me." He promised, you shook your head "I don't want you to put your name in the goblet." you said straight up. "What's the worst thing to happen?" He questioned, his voice in a soft whisper. "You die?" You said hysterically, he hushed you and promised everything will be alright. "Will you walk me back to my common room?" He seemed hesitant but nodded and stood up, putting his hand out for you to grab and pulling you up. Cedric and you walked hand in hand to the entrance to your common room, you really didn't want to be alone. "Ced?" You said nervously "Y/N." he replied. "Stay with me?" You asked, looking up at him and inspecting the intricate features of his face. "You know I can't, Y/N.." He said, his voice trailing off. "I will another night, I promised my friends I'd be back." You nodded, That was fair "Goodnight." He said softly, "Night, Cedric." you smiled and before you knew it he leaned down and cupped your face, your face was less than an inch from his for at least a couple seconds before his lips hit yours, he kissed you softly before slowly letting go and walking away, back to the great hall.
You went and laid in bed, the ugly emerald green curtains pulled around your bed as you thought about what had just happened, you didn't know how to feel.
