"Wait! Wait! Baby wait!" James panted as we came to a sudden stop before a sharp corner. I twirled around to face him. My eyes narrowing as I take in his hunched over figure.

"Are you out of breath? You play quidditch!" I argue as he coughs and pats his chest as he tries to catch his breath.

"We don't run laps!" He replies defensively and sends me a half assed glare before he pushed me behind him and looked around the corner.

"Ok" He nodded and led me down the hallway and closer towards the great hall.

My hand gripped his tightly. My heart was hammering in my chest. I just wanted to do the right thing. I didn't save the Hufflepuff girl. I didn't save Evelyn. I needed to save this person. I could feel the death in the air.

I gasped loudly and clutched my heart as I dropped to the ground. My hand slipped from James' as I clawed at my chest through my jumper. My breathing was even but yet I felt as if my heart had been ripped from my body.

"Fawn? Fawny baby!" James called and grasped my face in his hands. He tilted my eyes to look into his. I nodded my head letting him know I was ok as I took my hands away from my chest and grasped his wrists in a tight hold.

"We're too late" I croaked and glanced down the empty and cold hallway. I felt James' grip tighten on my face as he took a shaky breath in.

"You felt it?" He questioned lightly and I slowly nodded my head. My brunette hair falling over my shoulder and covered both James and I's hand.
