As soon as I finished the meeting, I immediately ran downstairs and into the living room but it was empty

"Don't tell me that he left"
I frowned and looked around but he wasn't here.
Did he leave? but I was on time so why.

"That Idiot, fool, stupid, useless...."

I looked down as I felt my eyes blurring with tears.
I couldn't control them as they began to freely fall from my face.
"Why am I even crying...he's the one that didn't trust me instead he just left like that"

I angrily wiped my tears but they still kept on falling.
"Ju-"
I was about to say something when someone shoved a popsicle in my mouth.

I frowned and turned around to see Matteo standing there.
Once he saw me crying, he sighed and pulled me in for a hug.

"Stop crying. I was just in the kitchen. You ran past me yet you didn't even see me."
He was here all along... Then did he hear me calling him names.

I pulled away from him and quickly wiped my tears.
"I...I  wasn't cr...crying because of you. I just umm forgot something. That's all"

"Hmm, what did you forget?"

"Why do you want to know. Stay out of my business"
I licked my popsicle and avoided eye contact with him to which he nodded.

"Is it that important for you to be running down the stairs"
I looked at him and he had an expression that I couldn't read.
All I could tell was that he was not happy.

"Umm yes."
He sighed and turned around.

"Well, now you're here. See you later"

"Where are you going?"

"Why do you want to know. Stay out of my business"

"Matteo..."
I grabbed the back of his shirt before he could walk away

"What?"

"Are you still mad at me?"

"Yes..."

"Why, I promised to be back in 10 minutes and I made it in time. Ye-"

"Lilian, until you start learning how to take care of yourself and stop giving those snarky comments anytime someone is worried about you then, I think I'm gonna stay mad till then"

"W-what, you know that I was actually looking for you?"

"I know"

"S-so why are you..... Plus we would always joke around if I said something like that."

"Lilian, it's not time for jokes anymore. You're carrying a child goodness sake. What if something happened to you while you were running"

"Okay fine, I get that I wasn't supposed to run and all but you don't have to treat me differently cause I'm carrying a child."
He didn't say anything instead he looked away and I frowned.

"So you're not gonna talk to me till then?"
I let go of his shirt and he sighed.

"It's not like I'm not gonna talk to you. I am still responsible for you-"
