Chleo's POV
As he left the kitchen I touched my lips to feel if I wasn't dreaming. Last time I was kissed it was by him and it doesn't even come close to the perfect way Kai kissed me. I never knew that this is how it suppose to be. I've only had one boyfriend. Ayanda. I hate that name with everything in me.
Shaking my head trying to get rid of memories and focus on the cooking. It's Taco Thursday so he must just fall in with the program. I made chicken tacos with last night's leftover grilled chicken. I just set up the table when Kai walked into the dining room.
"I taught you have fallen asleep in the bathroom" I said to him and he gave a small nervous laugh and said he had to put someone to sleep I think he meant it for his ears only but I heard him.
"And all this food are you having guests over?" He asked. "Most of the time it's those uninvited unexpected guests that I normally have. And they come in the form of your bestfriend and his brother and my best friends. And sometimes Mary but she always give me a heads up" I said.
"Yeah that sounds about right. Sit down and let me pour for us" he said. "Ok I'll dish for you so long I'll put two on your plate you can add more if you want" I said and he nod yes. "Woooooow I'll be at your house ever day " he said with a full mouth that is. He took another bite moaned and the taco was gone. Men. We talked about everything and he sent me the pictures that he have it was like we just picked up where we left.
I had such a great time laughing that I didn't hear Mia, Ashley and Chad enter. "So now you also know about Taco Thursday?" Mia asked Kai. "And you almost finish all of it" Chad said sounding genuinely heartbroken.
"Kai you finished all the food?!" Mia again. "Can you guys just let me speak. There's more in the low oven. I'll go get it." I said. "Let me help you before I get murdered over food" Kai said and followed me to the kitchen.
"Kai can you get 3 more plates over there and glasses right there" I told him and he did as he was told and placed the items on the counter top. "You got something right there on your mouth" he said and I wiped my mouth "Did i get it?" I asked him.
"No come here let me help you" he said. He leaned in and kissed the corner of my mouth before properly kissing me. It was as if time stood still. And I opened my eyes found him already looking at me. "Did you get it ?" I asked him. "I got it" came his response with a smile. "We should probably get these to them" I told him. "Yeah we should" I heard him say.

The evening went so good. My mom always said those unplanned dinners and dates that are always the best. She wasn't lying. It was almost midnight when everyone else left except a certain someone.
"Kai it's getting late you know?" I told him as we watched a movie he was laying with his head on my lap with my hand in his curls. "But I don't wanna go" he whined like small boy in an arcade. "Kai?" I said. "Yeah?" Came his reply with his eyes still on the tv.
"So what now and what about Kimberley.?" I asked him and that got his attention, he sat upright. "Chleo from what I gathered is that you have your life set out and you know what you want. And I wouldn't want to make you feel like you don't know where you are with me. You've got my attention since the first day I layed my eyes on you. And you don't have to worry about Kimberley. I don't want to hide anything from you I do not want to jeorpodise what we have. Me and Kim have been on and off fuck buddies and she knows I was never serious about her" he said almost out of breath.
"Are you sure that she understands that?" I asked him. "Yes she does"he said. Taking both my hands in his "Chleo Liseho Smith. Would you please be my girlfriend I promise to go as slow as you like as long as you are happy.?"he asked. "Kai I..I-"I started. "Chleo please don't say no...can we atleast try." Tears was already forming in his eyes.
"Im broken goods Kai. Everything may seem fine on the outside but in here Im completely shattered in a million pieces" I told him as tears streamed down my face.
"Then give me a change to help you heal I promise to be patient. I promise. Let me just show you that you are worth the wait. Can I just get the chance to show you what an amazing person you are inside-out. Can I just get the chance to learn to love you. Please?" He begged.
"At my own pace?" I asked him inbetween sniffs by this time I was full blown crying like a baby. How did I get a man that wants to love the broken me after what Ayanda did.
"We can go as slow as you like as long as I am with you. I'd give you space when you want and smother you with love and affection when you want just please let me in" he said. Unable to say anything I just nod my head. At the same time he pulled me into him and just held me tightly and I let go off all the tears that I held all these years.
