Chapter 42

Kai's POV

It's been a couple of weeks. She has had some bad days but most of them were good. Everyone went back to South Africa and it's just me and her at home and no Im not letting her stay on her own she could get hurt.

After so many arguments she managed to get me to say yes to working from home the doctor said it's ok but she shouldn't over work herself. Her broken ribs are healed just her leg but it's almost there I don't let her move around too much but yeah she's stubborn. Does what she want anyway. And me being at work doesn't help either.

Me: I sent you a the file about the new contract
Wifey ❤👑: cool.👍
Me: Did you take your meds?
Wifey❤👑: Yes I did now.
Me: Do you want to go out for dinner or do should I cook?

No answer. 2 minutes later still no answer so I called her.

Her: Yes babe?
Me: You didn't reply my text. Is everything alright?
Her: Yeah I went to fetch my laptop.
Me: You could have sent someone
Her: Kai would you let me be it's 8:30 in the morning and you text me a 100 times and called 50 times this morning only. Im capable of taking care of myself!
Me: Im sorry Im just worried about you that's all.
Her: No Im sorry for going off on you like that. I know you're worried and scared that I might get hurt but Im fine I swear. If Im in any pain you'll be the first to know. I promise liefie(love)
Me: liefie?
Her: Its love in Afrikaans
Me: I love it. Liefie
Her: And I love you.
Me: I love you too...liefie.
Her: have a great day I'll text you later
Me: You too liefie. Bye.

"Aaaaawh look at you" Chad's voice came through I didn't even hear him come in. "Don't you know how to knock. When did you even come inside and what are you doing here so early." I asked him.

"Saving Chleo from your love crazed self and dropping off these files and I just missed you man." He said. After we found out about Levi and Kim, Chad had pretty much blamed himself for introducing his brother to me, and had been in a dark place for a moment but I wasn't ready to lose my bestfriend because of them. We worked through it and he started being himself these last few days.

"What do you want?" I asked him. "Pffft what makes you think I want something" came his reply.

"The 'I miss you' part." I simply said. "Fine I need your help?" He said. "Im all ears for 15 minutes " I told him.

"I want to get serious with Ashley man and I don't even know where to start. How does relationships even work" he asked poor guy been a player for so long he don't even know the simplest thing about relationships but Im proud of him though.

"Well what I have to tell you will take too long so we'll talk at lunch that way I can leave Chleo alone too" I said.

"You've been buggin' the poor woman way too much" he said. "Yeah I just got off the phone with her and my fingers are itching to grab the phone and call her again." I said. "Kai leave the woman alone" he told me before we started talking out the files he brought with him

"Welcome to Russo & Russo Inc Mr Rodriguez. It's a pleasure doing business with you" I told him. In having my last business meeting for the day. "No, thank you Mr Russo you're father should be real proud of the man he brought up" he said. "Thank you we'll contact you for our next meeting" I said. "Thanks have a great day" he replied as he got up ready to leave when a notification on my personal phone came through

Wifey ❤👑:

Me: When and how did I become this lucky. Did you enjoy your day out?
Wifey ❤👑: Yes I got these pretty flowers. I got in a few moments ago.
Me: Good Im on my way home.

It's about 4pm I'm done with my last meeting might as well pack up and go home to my beautiful fiance. If someone would have told me that I'd be engaged today and on top of that inlove with her. I would have laughed in that persons face.

"Babe I'm home" I called out to her. "In here!" I heard her voice from the kitchen. "You cooking?"I asked on my way to the kitchen.

"Yeah you hungry?" she replied. "Im hungry but for that snack you sent earlier" I went up to kiss her.
"Go take a shower food will be ready soon." She said. I noticed her orthopedic boot was missing I didn't ask any questions and let her rather tell me so I went to my room and did as I was told.

In my room something on my balcony caught my attention. How lucky am I .

"Do you like it?" Came her voice from behind me. "I love it"I said. I can tell she was nervous cause she was fidgeting with her fingers.
"What's wrong" I finally asked her.
