Chapter 30: Reconsider

Jingyi pov

It's not easy to avoid Shizui. Well, we basically living at the same quarter and have almost an exact same of schedule.

I walked around mostly, only went back to my room on curfew and try to avoid every spot where Shizui usually spent his free time.

Since that day, I started to think that I should probably talk to Senior Wei. That we need to break this engagement now that Jin Ling showed his intrest on Shizui.

From the start, I keep my mouth quiet because Shizui did it too. I ended up just accepting it because, why not? Being accompanied by Shizui is not something new. We've been together since we're child.

But Jin Ling grew up alone, without friends. Even now he have us, he sometimes looks lonely. But he indeed more excited when he's around Shizui.

I stopped walking.

Why.. hurt?

Wait, I'm confused.

Did I like Jin Ling?...

I slapped my cheek. And that's hurt.

Get a grip Lan Jingyi! He likes Shizui!

I fisted the air and try to calm myself down.

"Jingyi?"

I freeze. Of course I know that voice.
I slowly turn around and prepare my most silly smile I can make. Oh, and an awkward laugh.

"Haha.. Shizui, fancy to meet you here"

Shizui frowned, "it's in front of our quarter"

I turned around and look at the building behind me, oh.

I walked around and my feet automatically lead me back! Cursed feet!

"Ah.. oh yeah.. um.. then I need to go to feed little appl-"

Shizui grabbed my hand.

I once again, freeze.

How... a good disciple like Shizui openly grab someone's hand, skin to skin, in front of junior quarter?

I gasped. My heart is beating faster.

So you like Shizui or Jin Ling?

I looked on my chest with a doubtful look.

"I know you've been avoiding me"

I look at him. His eyes looked a bit sad. Or maybe really sad?

"What are you talking about?I'm not avoiding you"

He sighed.

"Did I do something wrong?" He said.

Hearing his voice, small and full of guilt, my heart hurts.

"You did nothing wrong. How can you? If someone is wrong here, that's me"

I hold his hand.

This is confusing.

"Then, do you perhaps.. want to break the engagement? Dad said he's fine with that" Shizui looks down.

..... Senior Wei agree?

"Really? He agreed? For real?"

He nodded.

Then we went silent. 

My usually slow brain suddenly works very quick.

I like Shizui, might be romantically, but I also intrested on Jin Lin, also might be romantically, and Jin Ling likes Shizui, which obviously romantically.

So, should I step back and... break the engagement?

Shizui POV

He went silent.

I slowly bit my lips.

I realized that I don't want him to break the engagement.

That I started to like him.

His hand feels a bit sweaty, but it's fine.

I keep looking at him, he looks like he's in a deep thought. Such a rare sight.

"Okay"

My chest feels tight.

"Huh?"

"Let's break it"

Normal pov

Wei Wuxian sit quietly at the Jingshi. His husband sit close to him, cleaning his guqin.

"Lan Zhan"

Lan Wangji looks at Wei Wuxian.

"Do you think they'll break the engagement?"

"Most likely"

"You think so? Why?"

"Not based on love"

Wei Wuxian chuckled and move to sit next to him.

"Lan er-gege, not everyone in this world married based on love"

Wei Wuxian nuzzles his face to his husband arms. Feeling lucky to get married to his love.

"They have choice. Most people don't"

Lan Wangji put away his guqin and slowly circling his arm to Wei Wuxian waist, caressing it gently while giving a soft kiss to his forehead.

"Hmm.. hey, Lan Zhan"

"Mn?"

"Does Gusu allowed someone to have more than 1 cultivation partners?"

Lan Wangji frowns and throw a look at Wei Wuxian.

"Aiyaa not me! I only want to be yours"

Wei Wuxian kisses Lan Wangji's cheek.

"1 is recommended, can have 2 if needed"

Wei Wuxian gasped.

He didn't expect Gusu to allow more than one cultivation partner. They're strict with anything romantic but turns out they let someone have 2 partners!

"Then maybe we should call Jiang Cheng and-"

Lan Wangji let out a deep sound, almost like a growl. Wei Wuxian laughed.

"Aiyaa Lan Zhan, Jiang Cheng is my brother so we can't- aiyaaa wait! Ahh.. Lan er-gege, I'm just jo- nghh! Aiyaaa mercy!!!"

Fighting a writer block is so damn difficult TwT.

And from now on, things will be complicated.
I'm still thinking whether I will let the trio get together or just the two of them.

Yeah, Jingyi likes those two, while Jin Ling only likes Shizui, and Shizui only like Jingyi. For now.

I dont know why I make it like that...
