The Selection Test

YOUR POV:

"Ladies and gentlemen,welcome. We are fixing to start the selection test for the game Greed Island." The man on stage explained how this test would go down and the overall information. Once the curtains closed,a line started to go back stage. Killua,Gon and I didn't move from our chairs. A laugh was heard from behind us making me jump a little. "Bunch of losers don't understand anything at all. Those in line and those who are waiting gathered around them. I mean,what were those last ones waiting for? I'm sure they hope to see the ones who failed come out so they can ask what happens behind the curtains. You think they'd understand lining up like that will get them no where." Killua suddenly speaks up saying there won't be 32 participants. "If we want to save game data,each console holds 8 people." The man went on about the game and players for what seemed like forever.

"Gon,Y/N you understood all of that,right?" Killua hums"I didn't think that far." Gon explains as I agree. The man stayed behind with us until they came and called someone else up,that's when he left. "That's the kind of guy that gives lectures yet fails the exam." Killua points standing up and walking to towards the stage"you can't get anything if you don't try!" Then it was Gon and I. "Hey Y/N?" I hum"do you like Killua?" I feel my cheeks burn"o-of course I do! A-As a friend of course. Why do you ask?" He gives me a smile"just asking because if I'm being honest-"he leans close to me"I think Killua likes you."

I give a nervous smile"i-is that so?" He nods"don't tell him I said that though-"he crosses his arms"he'd be really mad." I stick out my pinky"I promise." We lock pinky's as it's called for the next contestant. "Guess Killua made it in. Alright,you go ahead Gon." I offer"are you sure?" I nod"yep! I mean if I don't pass it would be a waste of time." He gets up and wishes me good luck and runs down to the stage. I took a deep breath in and out,I looked to my knife. "I've got this..."I mumbled to myself"I can't give up now." I was having slight anxiety to be honest. I heard a loud noise from below and knew it was probably Gon. I shook my head as they called me down.

I headed down to the stage and went into the back. Upon entering I saw a giant hole in the wall. "Sorry about him." I immediately say"you know that kid?" I nod"him and the white haired boy are my friends." He nods"you are the last one if I am correct. Show me you Ren." I nod"I'm going to tell you now,I am not very good at Nen." I warn him as I take a deep breath and suddenly disappear from his sight.

I hung out on the banisters above while concealing my presence. I stared down at the man who didn't seem phased. I just need him to not know where I am at...the man didn't seem phased nor freaked out. I guess teleportation abilities are common? I grabbed my knife and held it tightly in my hand. I then teleported behind him and 'stabbed' him in the back with it. "I win." I say sticking my tongue out"that wasn't half bad. Not what I was expecting,though I knew you were in the banisters because I heard them creak. You pass though." My eyes widened"ah! I barely did anything!" I bowed towards the man"thank you!" I then headed into the back where everyone else who passed was.

"Y/N! Up here!" I glance to see Gon and Killua. I waved to them and hurried up the steps and sat next to Gon. "Gon,why did you break a wall?" I ask the green haired male"he asked for me to show off." He simply says"but you didn't have to break the wall!"

"I will begins with congratulating you. You are the 22 who have been selected to play Greed Island. If you win Mr.Battera will reward you with 50 billion jenis. The rest of the information is written on the contracts. The departure from Yorknew will occur at 5pm. Please read the contract and then sign it. Pack your bags and meet at the Tarsetol Station's main entrance."

Time skip

"Cheers!" We all said together clinking our drinks. "You guys passed the first stage! 50 billion in the end..."Leorio trails off taking a sip of his drink. "Could you read this?" Gon asks Leorio who agrees and goes over the terms. "If you're fine with them,sign the contract." We all then sign the contract saying we agree to the terms. "Well-"Leorio stands up"I'll be going now."

"Good luck on your exams!" Gon exclaims as Leorio smiles"you take care as well." Leorio pushes his chair in and Gon speaks up once more"next time we meet,I want to call you 'doctor'!" Leorio's smile drops with a sweat drop"you realize that means we wouldn't see each other for four years,right?"

We follow Leorio out of the restaurant and wave him goodbye as we leaves Yorknew. "Shall we go?" Killua offers as we nod and follow him. "I finally understand. There's 'something' we're able to return to reality with. And it's that 'something' that Mr.Battera wants at all costs."
