Chapter 33

Chaemin's POV

I wake up to the sound of my phone pinging with a million notifications. What is going on? I was literally just trying to sleep.

I slip my phone out of my pocket and immediately turn the ringer off. Wow, what a nice way to wake up.

The notifications keep on coming in, so quickly that I can barely even read the messages. It's even worse that the most of the messages are in Korean, which is so hard to read.

When I finally read one of the messages, I have to smack myself in the face and then look again. It has something to do with a "Jaemin Hyung".

Not wasting any time, I open one of them and see a bunch of "Unknowns" sending messages like their lives depend on it.

Confused, I type in, "What is going on here?"

The messages slow down and come to a stop. Then someone types, "Welcome to the NCT chat minus Taeyong! It's brand new!"

"Why am I here?" I mumble to myself in confusion as I ask them the question.

"Haechan said we had to do it. He's grounded and wants to talk to people but doesn't want Taeyong knowing." I assume it's one of the Dreamies.

"Who are you all again?" I ask in confusion.

Once I rename everyone, which takes an unusually long time, I actually start having a conversation with them.

taeyong is a meanie he grounded me for the REST OF THE DAY can u believe it

I sigh but see another notification pop up at the top of my screen, from "Bestie". Oh, Eunhae wants to talk to me!

I let everyone know that I have to do something really quickly and get responses of "Don't worry, we'll keep Haechan entertained." I wasn't worried, but ok.

I then open my conversation with Eunhae.

oh yea i went to their dorm today and met all 23 of them it was fun

and then i got a ticket for a special event
and taeyong gave me his number in the album
so then we went to a coffee shop
and then i got invited to their dorm
so i went and it was fun
and i was just texting them

Hm, Eunhae seems seriously off. I wonder what happened to her. She should've told me this information as soon as she learned about it, which would have to have been a few days ago.

I shake it off and go back to the group chat.

I get a flood of bye's as I get off the couch. My parents should be home any minute now, hopefully with food.

As if on cue, the door unlocks and opens to reveal my dad with a bag of something that smells amazing.

"Hey, Chaemin!" he greets me.

"Hi, Dad! Did you bring food?" I ask, my mouth watering.

"Yep! Here," he replies, setting the bag down on the counter.

"Thanks!" I grin and take the food out, ready to dig in. Korea has some of the best food I've ever tasted, and I'm going to get as much of it as I can every single meal.

"Mom should be home soon," he informs me, disappearing into my parents' bedroom to change out of his work attire.

I push away my uneasy thoughts regarding Eunhae and dig into the food.
