With this fanfic I want to wish all my amazing readers and friends a happy new year, 🎊🎆 and I hope 2021 will be a better one for all of us.
This fanfic takes place during Flash s3, between 3x09-3x10 and the other shows mid-season finales. There's Olivarry, some Superarrow and obviously Westallen cause while I love Olivarry, my canon heart beats for Westallen still ❤️ again happy new year and enjoy this story.

It was New Year's Eve and Oliver was brooding in the corner of the room on a party that Barry and Iris were hosting at their new place. They hadn't even finished unpacking their boxes yet, but they had still decided to host a New Years party anyway. The whole team Flash was there, a few legends (Ray, Nate and Amaya) and parts of team Arrow (Oliver ofc, Thea & Felicity).
While everyone was happy, drinking and dancing, Oliver seemed hellbent on brooding in the corner, his sister had basically been dragging him to the party.
Suddenly a breach opened up and everyone stopped what they were doing, including pausing the music, until they noticed that it was just Kara Danvers accompanied by two guys who appeared to be Winn Schott and James Olsen. But the girl they all knew as Supergirl was dressed in a stunning green sparkling dress, no glasses and her blonde hair was falling in perfect waves. If it wasn't for her unmistakable smile and eyes no one had been able to recognize her. Everyone was staring at her while she seemed to approach Oliver who was still standing in the corner, prepared for a fight with whoever came from the breech. But he relaxed when it was just Kara and she walked straight towards him. She looked stunning. He couldn't help but look her up and down to take in how extremely gorgeous she was in that green sparkling dress. If beauty could kill she would be deadly. "Hi." she said with a slight blush on her cheeks because everyone was staring at them. Oliver glanced over her shoulder and noticed that the hosts Barry and Iris were grinning. No doubt they had planned this since Winn and James were now shaking their hands and Barry seemed to say "It's nice to see you both again."
Oliver looked away while he let out a deep sigh and faked a smile. "Hi, Kara." he said. "And everyone can stop staring now and for the record, Barry, I know you're behind this." he continued while glaring at his friend who looked back at him, still looking really smug and happy with himself. That look was so infuriating.
"Care to dance, Queen?" Kara asked as she tried to ignore all eyes on them, because if she started paying attention she would feel so awkward. This was so not like her to just go to a New Years party with people she barely knew to be a blind-date to a hot guy she barely knew either. But Oliver nodded because there was no way he could say no to someone as beautiful as the woman in front of him and definitely not with everyone staring at them.
After turning their gazes away from the flirting duo, Winn and James headed towards Cisco, Felicity, Nate and Ray who were hanging out next to a homemade DJ booth upon a few unpacked boxes. "Meet the nerd squad." Felicity said and raised a glass towards the newcomers. "I'm Felicity. And somehow I think you guys will get along with Cisco, Nate and Ray over here." she added as she introduced herself, Cisco, Nate and Ray.
"Oh wow. So you're all like superheroes here?" Winn asked as he looked from the blond who had just introduced herself. "Yeah pretty much." Ray answered which Cisco scoffed at. "Says the legend." he teased. Winn's eyes widened while the guy named Cisco clarified. "Yeah, these two travels through time and they've been visiting both past and future events, but well so have I cause I have these powers...." Winn's eyes widened again at everything that was just revealed to him. "Oh my gosh. James! We're on another earth with SUPERHEROES! And did you hear him? Time travel? Oh my god this is so cool!" the excited newcomer nearly shouted even if there was no music playing at the moment since the earth 38 trio had arrived. "Winn, calm down." James said because his friend was about to hyperventilate soon over all the cool new stuff. "Let's start the music again." Cisco suggested before he put the party music back on again.
As the slow song started Oliver carefully placed his hand in Kara's before placing his other hand on her hip, carefully to not to wrinkle her beautiful dress. "I'm the one who should be treating you like glass." she joked as he seemed to hesitate and Oliver felt his heart relaxing a bit more when she joked, but a slight blush appeared on his cheeks. Those blue alien eyes lit up and her smile was too precious when she blushed slightly too. "Sorry. You're just really beautiful." he said with a lowered voice, what's wrong with me the archer thought. He wasn't usually this dumbfounded around pretty girls so why did this alien affect him this way. "Thank you." Kara said and interrupted his thoughts with another blinding smile and blushed again as she placed her arm around the archer's neck before they started swaying slowly to the music.
"By the way why did you agree to come?" Oliver asked after a few seconds of silence, while they were swaying slowly together, because Oliver wasn't much of a dancer aside from slow dancing. Kara smiled softly and she felt an unusual warmth going through her when she was being so close to the handsome vigilante, his scruffy cheek almost brushed against her own while they were swaying together to the music. Another slight blush rushed to her cheeks while she replied. "I know what it feels like to be lonely on New Years Eve since my sister is happy with her girlfriend and... well then Barry suddenly called me and I thought why not?" she explained. Oliver's lips twitched into a smile as he looked over Kara's shoulder at Barry and Iris who were dancing a few feet away from them on the empty floor that served perfectly as a dance floor. Then his face scrunched in confusion. "I have no idea why he's so obsessed with my love life, ever since Felicity broke up with me, he's constantly been checking up on me...well even before we ended things actually for he seemed to insist that I shouldn't mess things up with Felicity..." the archer talked quietly and then he noticed they had stopped swaying. Kara chuckled. "What? You're telling me that you don't see the way he's looking at you?" her voice dripped with surprise and for a split second Oliver had no idea what she talked about until the alien tossed a glance at Barry and Iris again, who looked so happy which made the archer even more confused about whatever the supergirl was referring to. "And the interest in your love life thing... well he obviously cares about you and wants you to be happy..." she said, causing the archer to chuckle nervously again. But he still looked oblivious and it made Kara sigh deeply before she continued. "Come on, if he wasn't so in love with Iris, he'd be dancing with you himself right now. And then he would kiss you at midnight." she joked while she blinked with her lashes as she threw the speedster and his happy girlfriend another glance. Her words caused Oliver's mouth to drop wide open and then he broke into nervous laughter before he resumed their dancing to distract himself from looking at Barry. "That's crazy." he exclaimed luckily not too loud because if the speedster were to hear their conversation, he'd die of embarrassment. Kara just grinned and leaned back to look into Oliver's pretty blue eyes. "Is it really? You're a handsome mayor, a loyal friend and on top of it all you're a hero." she said with a blush and that pretty smile that seemed to be glued on her face. Oliver blushed when he chuckled again. "You think I'm handsome then?" he said teasingly which caused Kara to giggle. "Yeah, I do have eyes." she replied before he spun her around and then back into his arms again. She laughed again. Her laugh must be the most beautiful thing in the world Oliver thought, but she still made him confused. "What's your mission here?" the archer asked. "I have no mission..." the alien answered too quickly. "But why are you dancing with me, if you think Barry is... you know..." he couldn't bring himself to finish the sentence because Barry couldn't have a crush on him it would be completely crazy, the speedster was just an enthusiastic and dorky person, he's like that with everyone, isn't he? The archer thought before the girl in his arms replied. "Honestly I'm just here to have a great start at the new year, Oliver. And to be a good friend to you if you ever need someone who's not from this earth." she said and he looked into her beautiful blue eyes and there was so much honesty there. He believed her. He suddenly noticed how close their faces were and Kara felt flustered again when she noticed that the archer seemed to lean in to kiss her so instead she spun herself around again. "Let's switch." she suggested and suddenly in one quick move Oliver found himself in Barry's arms while Kara and Iris were giggling next to them. Oliver rolled his eyes in annoyance and sighed at Kara's dirty move.
And of course Cecile just had to request another slow song to dance with Joe when Kara played her dirty move. It suddenly seemed like the whole room was into this plot to make Oliver feel very confused and embarrassed. He tried not to think too much of Barry's warm and soft hand in his own with the other around his neck in his dirty blonde hair as they slowly started swaying to the music the way he'd been dancing with Kara just a few seconds ago.
"Looks like you and Kara were hitting it off like I thought you would." Barry said smugly. Oliver sighed again while he awkwardly adjusted his arm around the speedster's back and tried to relax in the hand that was holding his. He felt a warm tingling sensation go through him being pressed so close together, feeling the warmth between them and help Barry smelled amazing. The archer had to resist the rising impulse of nuzzling his nose into the smooth neck and breathe in his intoxicating scent. Damn it! But what if the speedster wouldn't mind. He seemed to be relaxed enough being this close together. Oliver couldn't help but think about Kara's words, but she couldn't be right now could she? He decided to test her theory very carefully anyway with a subtle comment. "She's basically a female you." he stated while looking over at Kara and Iris who now had gone over to the homemade bar made of unpacked boxes in the corner of the room to get some drinks, they seemed to be chatting and laughing.
Barry blushed at the comparison Oliver made since he had just tried to set the archer up with the girl he found similar to the speedster himself. He slowly adjusted himself and placed both his arms around Oliver's neck to have an excuse to sorta hug the man who hated hugs and then he shyly looked away from those blue intense eyes. I have to ease the tension. Fast. "Just don't shoot her in the back with two kryptonite arrows." he joked and the archer couldn't help but chuckle at the dumb joke before he came up with a witty remark himself. "If you don't let that go, I'll shoot you again." he snarled while he pressed his hand against the area in the speedster's back where he shot him all those years ago. His calloused hand on the back of the lean man's dashing suit, somehow brought him even closer against the archer's own body and his other hand automatically landed on the speedster's waist. He had completely forgotten about all their friends in the room, and the man between his arms certainly didn't seem to mind the closeness as they were slowly swaying together to the music.
When Oliver met Barry's green eyes again they seemed to be looking right into his soul. The archer's heart started racing when he noticed this dance had the same effect on the other man. His cheeks had a bright shade of pink to them too and it made the vigilante terrified of brushing up too close, because he was pretty sure this slow dance was making himself hard especially after Kara's stupid words. Instead he quickly tried to shake that thought and focus on the music, but the ballad only seemed to make the mood all the more romantic. Blue eyes were gazing into green the whole song.
"Look at them." Kara giggled to Iris over their glasses of champagne. Not that it had any effect on Kara whatsoever but she had indulged her friend anyway just to chat about their dates, who now only seemed to have eyes for each other. "Are you not worried?" she continued and it caused Iris to chuckle before she took another short sip of her champagne. "No. It's actually kinda hot that my boyfriend and I find the same guy attractive." Kara chuckled while she glanced over at the two guys dancing, they were completely lost in each other's eyes and seemed to have forgotten all about the full room of superhero friends.
"He's surely attractive, but I don't think I have a chance..." Kara stated while looking over at Oliver who now ran a hand down to the speedster's waist, maybe pointing out the obvious was a bad idea she thought to herself as she tore her eyes from the slow dancing duo to glance at her friend she was chatting with. "Of course you do, you're Supergirl. You can have any guy you want I'm sure." Iris said with a friendly smile, before she grabbed the other reporter's arm and added. "Come on, let's get our dates back." she said and started approaching their superhero dates who were still only looking at each other. "That's probably easier said than done." Kara filled in and they broke into giggles again while they headed back towards their dates.
During Iris and Kara's conversation, the slow song had turned into a more upbeat song and the rest of the people in the room were breaking out into dance to "Domino", but for Barry and Oliver everything was completely still, they were still dancing in each other's arms. The archer felt the warmth that was Barry's cheek brushing against his own scruffy cheek. It caused a chill to go through him. The thought of kissing the infuriating speedster at midnight was suddenly all he could think about. The steamy music {dirty dancing in the moonlight} didn't exactly stop his mind from spinning and his heart from racing. He was feeling flustered and his heart was skipping several beats when he threw those soft pink lips a look. They look so kissable, wonder if he tastes as good as he smells and I bet that soft skin would feel amazing pressed close against my own...without clothes in the way. Oliver finally managed to shake away his dirty thoughts and he cleared his throat as he let go of the speedster and took a step back.
Barry gave Oliver an odd look when he suddenly fled the dance floor and stepped out on the balcony to get some fresh air, he sure needed it right now. His pulse was still racing. It didn't take long until Kara joined him outside. He hadn't even noticed her and Iris walking up to them on the dance floor before he rushed outside.
"Are you okay?" Kara asked while looking at the archer with a lot of sympathy. He didn't even bother to look at her when he replied. "I don't know.... Actually, no, I'm not okay. Thanks to you I can't stop thinking about... " he paused and took a deep breath. "...kissing him."
"What!?" Barry's surprised voice behind them startled them both. Oliver's cheeks heated up even more and he couldn't look at the surprised speedster who was also blushing. "You want to kiss me?" he asked in confusion.
Kara felt like she was third wheeling big time and then she noticed that Iris had also followed them outside and was right behind them next to Barry. "We should probably let them talk." she suggested and Kara nodded and joined Iris inside the party again, before everyone else at the party would start to notice the balcony drama that was going on. Thankfully they hadn't yet, the music and the chatter was loud enough and everyone had too much fun to notice.
Barry closed the door to the balcony and slowly walked up to Oliver while speaking in a soft tone. "Ollie, what was that about?" he wondered. Oliver took a deep breath before he turned to look at his friend, but he couldn't look him directly in the eyes after what he just overheard. "I don't know. You tell me. Kara thinks you only set her up as my blind-date tonight because you couldn't be my date... but if it wasn't for Iris..." he looked out at Central City while he was talking in a very low tone, almost a whisper and he paused more often through the sentence than he usually did. This was all just crazy. Barry couldn't have actual feelings for me and he was sure himself could definitely not have ANY  sort of feelings for Barry Allen. Not this infuriating male dork in front of him. I've never even had a crush on another guy before, so why do I keep thinking about claiming Barry and make him mine. His thoughts  were thankfully finally interrupted by a loud sigh. "She's wrong. I contacted her because you're both alone and I honestly think she could be good for you." the speedster said. But he wasn't totally sure who he was trying to convince.
"Why do you care?" Oliver asked and crossed his arms over his chest. He suddenly looked a bit intimidating which had always been both scary and a bit of a turn on for Barry. "You're my friend." he replied quietly without looking into those beautiful blue eyes. "Why didn't you set up Cisco and Caitlin with blind dates then too?" the archer nearly growled before he added. "Why do you care so damn much about my love life?" he asked with a more stern voice while he clenched his jaw in anticipation of what was about to come. He took a step closer towards Barry while he stared into those green eyes, he noticed the younger man tried to avoid his pinning gaze. "Do you have feelings for me?" the words caused Barry's heart to skip several beats and he felt his cheeks flush a deep shade of red. I can't do this right now. Or ever. This really can't be happening. I love Iris, no matter what I feel for Ollie, I am in a relationship with the girl I've loved my whole life. I can't let Oliver Queen have this enormous power over me anymore. He decided to continue to push down his stupid feelings for the hot Vigilante so he turned around and was about to head back inside the party again. Only to quickly turn back around again to face Oliver again and then he threw his arms around those muscular shoulders of the man in front of him, while he pressed his lips against the archer's in a very heated first kiss.
Oliver was caught by surprise at first but he returned the kiss just as passionately. Barry's lips were as soft as he'd imagined, but also hungry for his own and there was no way he couldn't kiss him back the same way, too much electricity was flooding between them both literally and figuratively, sparks were flying.
The kiss was passionate and slow at first before Oliver started to part Barry's lips more with his tongue, while he pulled him even closer towards himself by tugging at his shirt. And his other hand was playing with the soft brown hair.
At the same time Barry started tugging at Oliver's dirty blonde hair while his other hand slipped down to his waist to bring his hips closer against his own. When the archer felt the other man's hard arousal against his own hard crotch his tongue started to devour the speedster's mouth even more. I can't stop kissing him. Even though I definitely should stop right now before I shag him out on his own balcony. The intense kiss suddenly caused the speedster to let out a soft moan into the other man's mouth. That finally made their mouths part as they realized what they were doing and they both sighed while they leaned their foreheads together. Then without a word Barry suddenly disappeared in the blink of an eye and was back at the party inside, the lighting and the gust of wind was the only inkling that he'd just been stealing the breath out of the former playboy.
Oliver had to take a few seconds to himself to calm down from the rush. He licked the lasting aftertaste of Barry of off his lips and then he headed back inside the party as well. Kara grinned while her date approached her, he hoped it wasn't written all over his face what just happened outside and how much it had affected him. But it probably was, because she offered him a glass of champagne that he emptied in one sip, because he definitely needed a drink now and the embarrassment caused the alien to grin even bigger. "You kissed him didn't you?" she asked before a laugh escaped her glossy lips. It was definitely written all over his face. Oliver Queen looked speechless. "No. Actually he kissed me." Oliver clarified as he looked over at Barry who was now over at the nerd squad's table chatting with Iris, Cisco, Caitlin, Felicity, Iris brother, Ray, Kara's sidekicks, the new very drunk Wells and this blonde British dude he didn't know.
Kara chuckled and brought Oliver back from staring at the speedster across the room while he wasn't looking. "Can we just drop the whole high school drama now?" he asked, because it had certainly started to feel like being back in high school, if he had troubles with girls (or boys) back then. Kara smiled at him and nudged his shoulder. "Sure. For now." she teased and nudged Oliver with her shoulder again, which caused him to roll his eyes at her childish behavior. "Not that I ever had these troubles in high school because I could always get any girl I wanted..." he stated with a sigh as he threw Barry another glance at the other side of the room. His words gained a scoff from the girl next to him. "Wow Mr Humble...But can I just ask you something? and then I'll drop this whole Barry thing, I promise." she blinked with her lashes and Oliver couldn't resist her blue gaze so he just nodded. "Fine. If you promise to drop it..." he sighed but he wasn't quite prepared for her next question and it made him blush and think about the man again, that he tried so hard not to think about. "Was the kiss as perfect as you imagined?" the gorgeous blonde asked with a teasing smirk on her face. Oliver blushed and downed the glass of champagne Kara was holding it had no effect on her anyway, I need it better, he considered pulling a lie to her question, but then he didn't, because truth was that the kiss had been perfect. "Yeah. It was perfect actually... and I know it's crazy, but now I just regret not kissing him sooner because maybe...." he answered with another sigh and then he glanced over at Barry again while he thought about how to finish his sentence. The speedster was laughing at something Iris had said and for a short second Oliver felt a terrible sting of guilt mixed with jealousy. "...things would've been very different." he sighed. Honestly he wished he could be with him and make him that happy, how did I never realize that before?
Kara seemed to notice the way Oliver was looking at Barry and she gave his hand a gentle squeeze that turned his attention back to her. "Are you in love with him?" she asked. Oliver chuckled nervously and his cheeks heated up again. "You asked your question, now the subject is over. Come on." he said and dragged her towards the dance floor again, but the alien protested. "Oh I have an even better idea." Kara said and headed towards the others to suggest karaoke and was met with cheers.
First Cisco, Winn, Wally, Nate & Ray performed Backstreet Boys "Everybody" followed by Barry and Kara who sang a cheesy high school musical duet "Start Of Something New" and Oliver wondered if Kara was right. Had he fallen in love with that obnoxious speedster without meaning too? How did that happen? When the super friends had finished their number, Kara forced Barry to stay on the stage before she dragged Oliver up on the stage too, picked "Mandy" for them with a slight change with each other's names instead. She'd definitely been planning this all night, most likely she rearranged this song during what happened on the balcony. Oliver sighed while shaking his head. "Go Ollie! These people don't know how you used to slay at karaoke before everything..." a drunk Thea shouted followed by Cisco whistling loudly as the melody started and Kara waved for Oliver to go first.
