Chapter 2; failed interrogation

Even though it was quite late when I arrived back home, Lucas still wasn't sleeping. He was sitting in his room, at the table, and looked through some papers. His girlfriend, Sara was her name, was sleeping tightly on the couch that was in the room. I believe she just fell asleep there and Lucas had yet to move to carry her into their room.

As soon as I closed to the door to the office his eyes shot to me.

"Finally," He mumbled, then focussing his attention on his work again.

"Lucas? Is everything alright?" I couldn't help but wonder why he was working so late, he usually never did. And he looked extremely tired too.

"Yes. How was your night out?" He replied, immediately trying to chance the topic. But I wasn't going to let that slip through.

"I asked you a question and I want you to answer it honestly," I spoke, walking up to him. His eyes quickly darted to the couch where Sara stirred in her sleep and he scolded me for talking too loudly.

"Get out, we'll talk later. I need some sleep," He said and pushed me out of the room, closing the door right into my face.

I sighed, raising my hand to knock on the door again. But then I decided to let him sleep and not cause a scene.

I also left for my room, trying to get some sleep myself before I would talk to Lucas later.

-

"What was wrong with you last night, Lukey?" I asked when I walked into the kitchen, seeing him and Sara already sitting at the table and having a coffee. "What, no coffee for me?" I spouted and Lucas rolled his eyes.

"Make yourself some," He spat and now it was my turn to roll my eyes. Someone seemed to be in a pissy mood today. I saw that there was still some coffee left in the can and poured it into a cup, then sitting down next to my brother.

"Come on, talk to me now," I urged, knowing that if he didn't tell me now, he wouldn't do so at all.

"I received some news yesterday and I didn't like them one bit," He mumbled. I knew he was quite uncomfortable talking about this in front of Sara, she was one to worry too much. And he didn't like upsetting her, which was why he kept a lot of things from her and rather told them to me.

"Oh, did you?" I asked, finding it annoying that I had to ask him all the time when he could just tell me.

"Well, apparently Justin Bieber was at the club last night," he said and took a sop of his coffee, then raising his hand to run it through his hair.

My eyes went wide and a sudden feeling of uneasiness rushed over me. I had no idea why my stomach started churning, but I suddenly felt sick.

"What?" I hushed out, not really wanting to believe him. Before I went to that club I was joking about how he would never come to a club that was packed with so many people because it was too dangerous. But now that Lucas said that Bieber actually was at the club last night I felt guilty for even going. He must have been worried sick.

"Yes, and I couldn't sleep knowing that you were there and he was too," he shook his head and Sara put a hand on his shoulder to calm him down a little.

"You didn't have to worry so much, Lucas. I'm a big girl, I can take care of myself," I chuckled lightly, trying to lift the mood while punching his shoulder gently. But he didn't find it any funny and instead just glared at me, making me almost back away from him.

"Hunter, he could've found you,"

"But he didn't. I'm here now, aren't I? And anyway, why would he know how I look like? Barely anyone out there knows who I am or how I look, other than the people in district three."
