Request from @EmLikesGreen for a sick Deku (bkdk) au where Katsuki must take care of Izuku.
No quirks + Future w/ children AU
Enjoy!
Katsuki always hated the idea of germs and diseases coming into his house. He constantly told his husband and child to keep clean, constantly wash their hands, and never underdress when it gets too cold.
Of course his stubborn husband had to listen to none of those things and got himself sick.
Katsuki fumed around the kitchen as he conjured up some hot soup to ease the cold Izuku had. He chopped up some chilis and tofu, throwing them into the soup pot and letting them cook. He added in some salt and pepper to the flavoured water, along with some hot sauce. He would never typically cook Izuku spicy food, but knowing that his husband had no tastebuds that worked at the moment, Katsuki found it the perfect time to finally perfect the spicy miso soup he had been trying to make for weeks now. The only issue with it was the lack of willing participants to eat his spicy soup, and Katsuki always thought it could use just a little something else.
And now Katsuki was able to perfect his soup and feed it to his sickly and unwilling husband. All seemed fair in Katsuki's book.
After another 5 minutes of stirring and simmering the soup was finally done. Katsuki ladeled the soup into a small bowl and put it on a tray. Along with the soup was some Ginger Ale (to help Izuku's stomach, nausea was getting the best of him) and a piece of toasted bread. He hoped Izuku would be able to stomach it all, especially considering that he would be the only one eating the soup considering their child could never handle the amount of heat at such a young age. Thankfully she was still at school and wouldn't be coming home for a few hours.
Katsuki put the finishing touches on the tray of food, adding some of Izuku's favourite flowers on the tray (which are orange Dahlia's) and heading out of the kitchen. He walked down the hallway to their bedroom, opening the door and slowly peaking into the room. He saw the TV was on, some obscure infomercial was currently playing, and the top of Izuku's head was showing from the top of the multitude of blankets. His green curls were accentuated by the glow of the television screen, the rest of the room in a blanket of darkness. The curtains were drawn on the windows and even the small lamp on Izuku's half of the bed had been turned off. The lights from the hallway slipped in, causing a line of yellow light to cascade down upon the bed in the center of the room.
Izuku groaned, sounding nearly like a zombie with how raspy his voice had become, and turned his head slightly. Katsuki made sure to enter and close the door quickly, holding the tray of food in one hand and closing the door with the other. It took Katsuki much effort to walk quietly to the side of the bed Izuku was resting on, making sure to not his those certain floorboards that were known to squeak and cause a ruckus. Katsuki made it over and sat down on the bed, the mattress sinking down with the new weight along with Izuku's legs and hips. Izuku had curled in on himself as much as he could, practically in a small ball. And although Izuku had grown to be well over six feet since his days in U.A, Katsuki couldn't help but compare Izuku to that of a kitten. Izuku looked the part, a large Dynamite sweater covering his hands and causing sweater paws to form, his face red from sickness, and his typically well kept main of curly locks were all out of sorts.
But Katsuki thought he looked just as cute as he normally did, even if he was sick.
"Kacchan?" Izuku mumbled, eyes glazed over with sleep and lips chapped. The glass of water Katsuki had given his husband before sending their daughter off to school had been drained of it's contents, but Izuku still looked parched with his chapped lips and hoarse throat.
