I went done to the mine seeking guidance from mother.
Turns out she thinks Amy's idea is a good one.
That with kids around I shouldn't go back to my old ways.
After talking with mother I looked through all the junk I had down here.
I sat at the sharpening wheel and sharpened my machete, out of habit.
I was going to miss this place, however I need to do what's best for my family.
I was busy, deep in thought when I felt somebody tug on my coat sleeve.
I looked down to see Junior looking up at me.
Daddy, are you mad at mommy?
I set my machete aside and scooped him up into my lap.
No, not mad just upset we have to leave.
I love it here, but it's not the best place for you kids.
I'll get over it, I love you guys and I'm sorry if I scared you earlier.
I wasn't going to hurt mommy, I was just frustrated.
I took my mask off and set it aside to nose kiss my little man.
Daddy why do you wear the mask when it's just us?
Out of habit, but I don't like going outside without it on.
But why?
Because it makes me feel safe I guess.
Like a superhero ?
You hide your identity like Spider-Man ?
I had no clue what the boy was talking about but I played along.
Yeah, like that I said tapping my finger to his little button nose.
Cool!
Well let's get back to the house, I said grabbing my mask and machete.
Superhero Thor carries a big hammer with him Junior informed me.
Oh really?
Yeah!
I placed Junior on my back, he giggled in my ear as I ran back home.
He kept saying ran faster daddy!
When we reached the house Junior clicked his tongue and said woe  gently tugging on my jacket.
I recently learned the sound a horse makes, all though I haven't seen one in real life.
So I made the whinny noise and suddenly stopped moving.
Jade came running out the front door and wrapped her small arms around my leg.
I set Junior down and picked Jade up.
She lifted my mask and kissed my cheek, then she replaced my mask back on my face.
Daddy, mommy thought you left us.
I sat her down and went inside, I thought I was going to find my wife in tears, it was the opposite.
