Jason's POV

I woke up to my wife asleep beside me on the floor.
I didn't want to wake her so I went into the living room and noticed it was trashed.
I looked around for the kids, I noticed my machete was gone too.
I heard a scream coming from outside.
I went to investigate, I found Junior with my machete pressed to the side of his sister's neck.
I grabbed the machete and picked Jade up to inspect her neck.
It was a small wound, however the cut was deep, she needed stitches.
Junior's eyes went wide after seeing me.
You're supposed to be dead!
I sighed, I get that reaction alot, I shook my head and started back for the house.
When we got back Amy freaked out on Junior before noticing me.
You're alive, she said with disbelief.
What happened to Jade?
I pointed to Junior, then to my machete.
I thought her eyes would pop clean out of her head.
Junior! How could you hurt your sister?
It's her fault Dad got killed!
Who gave you that idea?
Freddy...
I had Amy ran Jade to the hospital while I stayed behind with Junior.

Junior's POV

Freddy told me how it was Sissy's fault that Daddy got killed.
Freddy said I should teach her a lesion.
So I ran out the door trying to escape his menacing voice.
But my Sister followed me, big mistake.
When she approached me, I grabbed her and shoved her away.
That didn't work, she starting yelling at me, that set me off.
One minute I was screaming at her, the next minute I had Dad's big knife up to her throat.
Then someone took Dad's knife out of my hand and picked Jade up.
I turned around to see Daddy staring down at me.
After mom left with Jade Daddy kept looking at me, with his arms crossed.
I knew I was in deep trouble now.

Jason's POV

I seen the fear flash in his eyes, so I relaxed my posture.
I knelt down to get more eye level with him.
Daddy, I'm sorry. ..,I was just upset about you dying...
I had to take it out on somebody, Sissy was dumb enough to follow me.
Junior, I'm not mad, I am however disappointed with you.
You could have killed her, you really hurt her.
I know...
He started to tear up so I picked him up and spun him around.
That cheered him up, then I sat with him on the couch.
Now you know you'll probably get into trouble with Mommy right?
He nodded his head, I gave him a gentle hug.
We sat in silence until the girls got home.

Amy's POV

I took Jade from Jason and rushed her to the E.R.
Jade didn't talk much, I think she was in shock, I don't blame her though.
After filling out the paperwork we waited to be called back.
Once the nurse got us into room she took her Vidal signs.
Checked her heartbeat and temperature.
Then she asked Jade what happened.
She looked over at me then shyly replied I was playing with my Daddy's big knife.
I slipped and landed on it....
The nurse looked over at me for clarification.
I shrugged and said I wasn't around, I um was taking a nap.
Oh I see, she replied while writing something down.
When the nurse excused herself, I whispered to Jade.
Honey why did you lie?
Because I don't want Jun to get into trouble.
But honey they need to know what really happened.
We were interrupted by the doctor.
Hello there, I'm Doctor Colleen, what do we have here?

Jade's POV

I know mom is right about the truth, however I was scared my brother would get in really bad trouble.
So I decided to tell partly the truth.
Me and my little brother were playing pirates and he had my dad's big knife.
He didn't mean to hurt me, it was an accident.
Mommy was resting, she hasn't been feeling good.
Daddy was gone on business, so me and my brother went outside to play.
That way we wouldn't wake mommy.
Doctor Colleen looked at mommy, she slowly nodded her head.
Ok well I'm sorry but you're going to have to have stitches.
I nodded my head, I figured that much, I might only be 8 but I'm not dumb.
The doctor left and mom confronted me again.
I gave her the same answer as last time.
A few minutes passed in silence before the doctor and nurse came back.

Amy's POV

I held Jade's hand while they sutured her up,she didn't even cry.
After picking up her Prescription we headed back home.
I didn't know what to do about Jade making up that wild story.
But I understand why she did that.
The car ride back home was quite except for the radio.
