"Never in the history of calming down has anyone calmed down by being told to calm down!" I shout at Shyla through our FaceTime call and she continues to laugh at my distress.

Friends, got to love them. Right?

I'm now currently sat in a pile of clothes on the floor in my bedroom after almost thirty minutes of trying to find something to wear for my non date with Ricky.

"Well how many pieces have we narrowed it down to?" Shyla asks after she eventually manages to stop laughing.

"We haven't." I grumble and she begins to laugh again.

She seriously is the worst person to call for help. I'd be better off doing it on my own at this rate.

With an astonishingly dramatic huff, I fall back onto the pile of clothes and internally cry, knowing I'm probably never going to be ready in time.

"Okay, get your ass up!" Shyla yells and I open my eyes slowly, staring up at the ceiling. "Thea!"

I sit up, glancing back at the phone which I have propped up on my vanity table chair. "It's pointless Shy, I'll just tell him I can't go."

"Oh stop being so melodramatic and get your ass up!" She groans and I push myself up from the floor, doing as she says.

I rummage through the clothes next to me and turn my nose up at all of them. I'm one of those people who needs to buy a new outfit for every single occasion, and if I don't.. I'll basically have nothing to wear.

"How about that?" She says as my hand touches a cropped, low-cut beige and maroon floral top. It has long sleeves but the material is light enough to not make me burn up in it.

"Yeah, that's cute," I admit and pick it up, turning it around so that I can see the back. "What with?" I ask.

"Blue jeans? White jeans?" She suggests and I find the nearest pair of blue jeans to me, not really wanting to wear white. Knowing my luck, I'll only end up ruining them somehow.

I stand up and hold the two pieces of clothing together, double checking that it looks okay. "Girl, hurry up and get dressed. He'll be there soon." Shyla exclaims and I chuckle, picking up the phone.

"I will, I will!" I tell her. "Thank you, love you." I add and she blows me a kiss through the screen.

"Love you, have the best time!" She squeals and I smile before hanging up.
