I haven't felt right since yesterday.
What I learned about Rio's past has impacted me more than I thought anything ever could.
He's been through so so much and he's still able to get out of bed everyday and care for his siblings. That whole family have been through unimaginable things and I dread to think of what it was even like for them.
Imagine having a father who is not only an alcoholic but a drug user and a violent person. They must have been living in constant fear of him.
It hits home to be honest. To think my mom actually went through similar situations to them with her ex fiancé.
It makes me feel physically sick.
Survivors of abuse show us the immense strength strength they contain and the power of their personal spirit every single time they smile.
My mom's smile could light up a room. It's warm and inviting, just like her. She's the most courageous person I know, well, at least I thought she was until I learnt about Rio's past.
He is so so strong and he doesn't even realise it. It takes a pretty special guy to take on his siblings as their legal guardian and put his life on hold for them.
Rio had to grow up so fast to take care of Ellerie and Knox. He's doing things that his parents should be doing. Carpool, teacher — parent conferences, grocery shopping, bill paying.
He's dedicated himself to caring for them and putting their needs before his own, and in my eyes.. that's a hero. He didn't just save his siblings, I think he saved himself too.
I've always felt as though being around Rio is a comfort, like I feel safe when I'm with him. I guess that explains why.
The first time I saw him and Romeo together at Russo's restaurant, I didn't understand how he could possibly be his nephew, but now it all makes sense.
I already know that my father used to work for a man named Alberto who died a few years back. I also know that his two children are Enzo and Romeo. However, I wasn't aware that he had a daughter too.
No one told me that part. Does my father even know about her?
Carmella Russo. She was Rio's mom?
Why didn't she say anything to her brothers about what was happening? I understand that Rio's dad threatened her but her brothers are literally two of the most scariest people I've ever met.
They would have been able to help her.
I'm not exactly sure what Enzo and Romeo do, but just by looking at them, you can tell they're not exactly freaking saints.
