Chapter 5

Mike contacted Bernie. "Hey, Bernie. I'm in."

Mercedes knocked on the office door of her mentor, Dr. Kelly Bing. "Dr. Bing?"

"Dr. Puckerman." Kelly waved her in.

Mercedes came inside and sat in front of her desk. "I've thought over your offer and if it's still available, I accept."

Kelly grinned widely. "It is still available. Welcome to permanent employment, Dr. Puckerman."

Quinn knocked on Kathryn's door.

"Come in!" The redhead shouted.

Quinn went inside and stood in front of Kathryn's methodically clean desk. "I accept the promotion if it's still on the table."

Kathryn grinned her "shark" smile. "It's going to be a lot of long nights."

"I understand."

"Holidays."

"As long as I get Christmas off, I'm still here."

Kathryn thought about it. Almost no one worked during Christmas. "Okay. Welcome to the big leagues, kid."

Yuria helped her mentor, Cookie Dane clean out her office along with her own desk. With three other people, they walked out into the future.

Jude was so stoked to get an office. It wasn't a corner office (far from it) but it was a stepping stone and as his fathers always said, "A stepping stone begins with the first step.".

Marc shook hands with his lawyer. The conversation with Jefferson didn't go well so he was following part 2 of Jude's plan.

On his way out, he thought about how he was going to say yes to NASA. He deserved that promotion and no idiotic asswipe was going to keep him from it.

Maddie visited the set with her nanny. It was so cool to be back in front of the camera. She met her co-stars and was shown her dressing room.

The next day was the first table read so she got a copy of the first episode's script. It was a sitcom so they would be recording in front of a live audience but that was next week's problem.

Laura called her grandparents to tell them she and her siblings accepted their challenge.

Mal took time after work to go take pictures. He didn't know what Antoll wanted for his first show so he was just going to take pictures of everything that inspired him and develop them in different styles.

He hoped the outlandish man liked that.

Lisa ran lines with Judy. She was so excited to be able to work like her older siblings that she'd keep forgetting to say what was on the page and just squealed.

Judy thought she was so cute. But would just remind her to read what was written.

Lisa smiled to herself as she did as told.
