"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around."

― Leo F. Buscaglia

James Potter was furious.

Absolutely, bloody, crazily furious.

Not only hadn't he been able to get a good quidditch practice in on Saturday. No, his best friend just had to decide to nearly fall to his death.

After that, he had to give an injury report to his head of house, which was followed by a stern lecture on how a captain needed to take up more responsibility for his teammates.

Then, the universe just needed him to find out that one of his favorite teammates had slept with the brother of his unbiological brother, also called best friend, also known as a person hating said brother, or more officially: Sirius Black.

But that hadn't been enough. Oh no, the following Sunday just had to be the day of the full moon, which meant that his other best friend had already spent the past night in the Hospital wing and neither he nor the remaining marauders would get any good hours of sleep in before Monday.

James Potter was furious, and he had every right for it.

Now, it was Sunday Morning and the one person he really needed to talk to was sitting at the Slytherin table, in the midst of a sea of snakes, so there was really no way for James to go and talk to the girl he knew to be holding quite a few of the answers he so desperately needed.

"No offence Dolohov, but I'm pretty sure I despise your brother"

As James spoke his thoughts out loud, he almost expected the feisty girl opposite to him to hit him or do something similar. Instead, she only smiled.

"Believe me, I do too. Try being related to him", Luana held her glass up high, appearing to toast towards the Slytherin table. "If he wasn't my brother, I probably would have already killed him for the way he acts around her sometimes. Plus, the way he charms my parents into hating me. The guy is a right git"

At those words, Marlene perked up. The usually so bubbly Blonde had been unusually quiet for the past two days (Whatever might be the reason for that), but now she leaned slightly forwards on the bench. "So, do you think he is using her?"

"How would he be using her?", James asked, confusion evident on his face. Instead of an answer, Luana only laughed. "Please, Potter, you're not that blind. My brother wants to make my parents proud. He wants to be the perfect child that they can boast with. He just got the purest girl at this school to go out with him, that has nothing to do with love"

As the marauder looked over to the Slytherin table again, he couldn't help but agree with Luana's words. Louis Dolohov had his arm swung around Elaine, pulling the girl close into his side, while a smug smile played around his lips. James couldn't help but feel worry spreading around his heart, as he took in the sight of the petite Blonde carefully nibbling on a piece of toast, not meeting the eyes of anyone at the table.

"I just don't understand how she doesn't see it", Luana sighed, returning back to her task of buttering her fourth or fifth pancake.

"Seems like she just has a questionable taste in guys. Didn't she date Marchbanks as well?", Sirius threw in casually, earning himself a hit on the head by Luana and a kick in the shin as a gift from James. "Damn, chill out! You can't deny it", he tried to defend himself, though the rest of the group kept glaring at him nevertheless.
