The death of their majestic Emperor brought more despair than intended.

The commoners and everyone who adored the ruler abandoned hope. The current calamities which were brought by her were rapidly creating more downfalls.

The empress grief in the dark as she was left to deal with the empire that was fallen into chaos. The great five Duke's held a funeral that enraged more peasants.

Why was the empress sulking instead of doing her job?

More protest appeared and soon the secret of her majesty being a commoner was released.

Aristocrats were outraged after hearing such a thing. Some ladies verbally attack her majesty but the heroine immediately stops it. With the power of her words and a threatening declaration from the prince, the nobles stop.

It seems like there was also no benefit in dethroning the empress. Once she's fallen, the nobles will follow because of the protest.

"Rest in peace, your majesty." Duchess Aira sadly stated as she closes her eyes and clasps her fingers together. She was standing in front of the dead emperor and the palace was pact with aristocrats paying their respect.

She then walks away and paid her respect to the empress.

"Your majesty, your highness, condolence."

The empress, still devastated, nod.

The Duchess showed pity and left.

"Neville, it's ok to cry." The heroine confessed as she continued to stare at the crowd. Astaria was standing next to the empress and she was glad there was someone to care for her son.

"No, people will perceive it as a weakness."

'Why will I even cry towards someone who used me as a tool? He created an engagement between me and that woman. He didn't respect my wishes.' He mask his dark thoughts and rubbed his eyes.

"It must be hard." The heroine spoke.

'You've lived a happy life Astaria, of course, you don't know how it feels like. You've been sheltered and loved your whole existence you don't know how it feels like to be manipulated.'

"Kinda..." He replied.

'But if I denied it, you might suspect me of killing him. Even with you being unsophisticated, you still have a brain.'

"Neville," the heroine clasped his hand and lovingly gazed at him. "I'll try my best to eliminate all misery in your life starting right now. Not everyone can handle that type of pain."

'Even from the past world, he died. I thought everything would work out just fine and he won't die. I didn't think much...' The heroine speculated as she nuzzles him, comforting him somehow.

'I love your naivety..' The prince gazes at her and he almost smiled. 'I can't believe this weapon is easy to obtain. She's too kind to the point of stupidity."

"You'll do everything I want?"

The heroine froze and memories of her past life bothered her. An image of her inside a cage appeared and generated fear.

'No, it won't happen again. Neville changed and I'm sure of it. He's just saying it because his father left him. He probably doesn't want to be left alone too.'

The fear gradually ceased and she tightly hugs him, nuzzling her face on his pale neck.

"Of course, your the love of my life. I'll do everything to make you happy."
