Colby's POV

"Are you having fun?!" Sam yelled over the music as he swayed with Kat. "Mhmm." I mumbled and with a nod as I tried to vibe to the music. I honestly wasn't having the best time since my back was hurting and Violet wasn't here with me.

I had plenty of girls come up and try to talk to me but I kindly shut them down so they wouldn't get any ideas. I hung around Amber and Brennen for a while but nothing was helping the overwhelming urge I had to go upstairs.

Eventually 11 o clock came around which meant Violet would be getting off work soon. I hated feeling like I was being clingy but being around Violet made me feel a certain type of way.

She owned my heart.

I went to the kitchen to get her a plate of food as my phone buzzed.

V 🖤: I'm stuck at work and won't be home for a while. Sorry.

I frowned at the text then set the plate of food down. She must have been really busy because she usually would have said she loved me or something. I tried to not let it bother me though because that would be ridiculous.

She was just busy.

"You okay?" Jake asked as I shook my head. "Yeah, V got caught up at work so I think I'm just gonna head to bed." I said as he nodded. "Let us know if you need anything, brother." He said as I nodded. "You got it." I said then turned to go upstairs.

When I got to my room I went to the bathroom to go wipe the face paint off of me. Once I did that I took my brace off then got in bed, then groaned from the pain.

I knew I was slowly getting stronger but I was on my feet a lot today so I was really feeling it.

I'm not sure how long I stayed up, waiting for Violet, before I dosed off into a dreamless sleep.

I was surprised when I woke up in the morning and she wasn't by my side. It wouldn't surprise me though if she was downstairs making everyone breakfast since she would usually do that after a party.

I got out of bed then took a shower before going downstairs only to see an empty kitchen with trash everywhere. "Huh." I breathed out then went to Violet's room to see if she was there.

I quietly opened the door in case she was sleeping, but saw that her bed was empty. "Vi?" I called out, hoping she would answer me.

It wasn't like her to just up and leave without at least leaving a note or texting me, but she hadn't done that. The last text was the one from last night.

When I went into the kitchen Sam was now in there, cleaning the counters.

"Have you seen Violet?" I asked as he shook his head. "Not since yesterday morning, why?" He asked as I pulled my phone out and called her, only for it to go straight to voicemail.

"Something's wrong." I decided as my heart raced. "Woah, what do you mean?" Sam asked as I shook my head. "I don't think Violet came home last night. She's not answering either." I said and went to grab my keys.

"Woah! Relax dude, you know you can't drive." He said and grabbed my keys before I could. "Something's wrong dude....She would have texted me if she wasn't coming home." I said as he nodded.

"Okay, just try to relax. We'll go to the hospital and see if she maybe crashed there. She said it was going to be busy, she might have just passed out." He said as I nodded. "You're right. I just have a bad feeling." I said as we went out to my car.

"I'm sure she's fine. She probably just crashed there and forgot to text you." He said as we started driving to the hospital.

I tried to keep myself composed because it was ridiculous to freak out over something that wasn't set in stone.

I had to just believe that she was okay.

When we got to the hospital we went to the wings he usually worked in then went to the desk. "Hey, how can I help you?" The girl behind the desk asked as we walked up.

"Hey, do you know if Violet Richards is here?" I asked as she shook her head. "I don't know, let me page her." She said then typed something into her computer.

As soon as she pushed send, her brow scrunched. "She's clocked out." She said then looked at me. "Okay...is Sophia Ramirez here?" I asked as she paged her. "Yeah, she's on her way out to talk to you." She said as I nodded and stepped aside with Sam.

I could feel my heart beating against my chest as we waited. What did it mean that she wasn't here?

When Sophia came out she looked at me with concern. "Colby? Everything okay?" She asked as I shook my head. "Violet didn't come home last night." I said as her face dropped.

"I sent her home at 11..." Sophia said as my heart dropped. "Did she mention anything about going anywhere after work? It's just unlike her to not tell anyone where she's going." I said as she shook her head.

"No...come on back, we can look at the cameras." She said as I nodded. "Okay, thanks Sophia." I said as she led us to the back. I couldn't wrap my head around the idea that Violet maybe left again.

I thought we were doing okay.

I shook my head, not wanting to get into that thought process. She told me when she left last time, she was always really open about how she was feeling. She wouldn't have just left me without saying anything.

I least I hoped she wouldn't.

When we got to Sophia's office she started going through the footage from last night. "Okay..here she is, going to the locker room. We don't have cameras in there so we have to wait to see when she leaves." Sophia said as we watched.

After a couple minutes you could see her leaving with a tall guy. He was almost guiding her as if she was struggling to walk. "Who's that?" I asked as Sophia nodded. "That's Peter. He's here so we can talk to him..I'll page him in." Sophia said as I watched him lead her out to the parking lot.

"Yeah. I need to talk to him." I said as she typed something into her pager. "You okay, man?" Sam asked as I shook my head. "I just have a bad feeling man." I said as the tall guy from the cameras came in.

"What's going on?" He asked with confusion as he looked at Sam and I. "Sit down, Peter." Sophia said and pointed to the seat next to me.

"Did you talk to Violet last night?" Sophia asked as he nodded. "Yeah of course. Why? What's going on?" He asked with confusion. "She never went home last night, but after watching the cameras it looks like you were with her, do you know where she went?" Sophia asked as he shook his head.

"I walked her to her car because she was exhausted...I waited around to make sure she was okay then watched her leave. I have idea where she went." He said and shook his head. "She didn't mention anything?" I asked as he shook his head.

"No, she mentioned a party at your place but that's it." He said as Sophia sighed. "Okay, thanks Peter." She said as he nodded and left.

"I should call the police." I said as Sophia shook her head. "Let's talk to Aisha, I know they're close." She said then paged her.

"Do you think she maybe got into an accident? Since she was exhausted?" Sam suggested as I shook my head. "I don't know...Vi is smart. She wouldn't have driven if she was exhausted." I said as Aisha came in. "You're right...I'm gonna call Jake to see if she came home.

"Colby? What's going on? Is Violet okay?" She asked and sat next to me. "She's missing...have you seen her?" I asked as Sam called Jake. "No...oh god." Aisha said and put her hand over her mouth.

"She didn't mention anything to you about running away?" Sophia asked as she shook her head. "She was talking to me about how excited she was about the party you guys were having! She never came home?" She asked as I shook my head.

I looked over at Sam to confirm she still wasn't home. "No, she's not there." Sam said as I let out a breath. "We need to get the police involved..I don't like this." I said as Sophia nodded and reached for her phone.

I couldn't get the thought out of my head of her being taken or hurt. It was killing me knowing that I didn't know where she was or if she was alive.

I had to find her though.
