Chapter 35

Accepted

"I am planning to get into the M Corporation.

"I am planning, too."

The net worth of Taranvier's company is decreasing real bad and quickly. Malapit nang malugi. It's not that I don't want to get tangled with it, but I was planning to go before the chaos fired up. Mag-iisang taon pa lang naman ako rito...

The benefits are all fine, but I want something more. It's like... I'm not happy here at all. I want something more. I want something more thrilling.

I shrugged.

It's like a big achievement to get accepted under them. I'll just be professional and set aside the past.

Months had passed and I already resigned on my work. I already submitted my application forms in some Montevinski Corporations.

I saw Dad sipping on his coffee mug when I entered the mini kitchen. His laptop was in front of him, but it seemed like his mind was elsewhere. Naka dim ang mga ilaw.

"Okay ka lang, 'Dy?" I asked while pouring milk in my glass.

Tumikhim siya at ibinaba ang mug niya. Umupo ako sa kanyang tabi.

"Your Mom wants to talk to me."

My father's words easily made my heart shrink.

He sighed. "We seldom communicate...

I rolled my eyes. "I'd never respond, Dad."

Tumango siya. "Uuwi sila this year. The date is still not yet classified, but she confirmed they'd go home this year..."

I hate her so much for what she did, pero hindi ako makapag sinungaling sa sarili ko na may parte sa akin na gusto pa rin siyang makita. There were nights I was wondering if she was doing fine. There were days I was eager to meet her again and question her about everything running through my head.

Hindi ako umimik.

"She wants to meet you two... And I know Kenzie will surely junk her request."

I smirked. "What made you think I'd accept her invitation, Dad?" I chuckled bitterly when he eyed me like he was so assured I'd come.

"Although you don't think it's a good idea, Kesian, you still need it."

"I don't need it, Dad."

"For closure? Acceptance? Peace of mind? Don't you want those?"

Nag-iwas ako ng tingin. I've always wanted to have those, but I still don't have the heart. Hindi ko pa kaya. I want to be strong before facing her. I want her to see we're okay without her. I don't want her to feel she's our greatest loss.

Minsan naman tanggap ko na. I've learned from others to accept even the horrible things. I've met a lot who were abandoned as well and some of them already forgave and accepted their fate.
