Mace Windu's (female) padawan

The Zilo Beast part 2

They soon hear something going on outside so they walk out to see the Dugs putting stuff inside the sink hole. They soon find the King's tent and they see the King quickly hide a piece of paper.

Carmen puts her hands on the table and says "What's going on out there?"

The King glares at her and says "It is an internal matter. None of your concern." Carmen glares at him and says "Your men are killing a unique life form."

The King snarles and says "It is a dangerous, bloodthirsty monster! Did you forget that it tried to kill you?"

Carmen fists her hands to her sides and says "It was under attack. It was defending itself. It had lived peacefully below the surface for all these years."

The King steps to the side of the table and takes a threatening step towards her. He says "Until you unleashed it with your bomb!" Carmen steps towards him and says "We dropped that bomb to save your planet, at your request!"

The King snarls at her and says "To save our fuel for you to buy, If you want us to sign your treaty, then you must help us destroy the beast!"

Windu puts a hand on her shoulder to calm her down and says "What purpose would it serve to kill it? If it really is the last of its kind..."

The King snarls at him and says "It is our duty! Our ancestors warned us that one would return someday and destroy our entire civilization. Will you help us or not?"

Carmen glares at him and says "We respect your traditions and your ancestors, but we cannot allow the destruction of an innocent life form."

The King glares at him and says "Then there will be no treaty" before walking away, Windu glares at the King before Anakin says "Master Windu, Padawan Leal, are you certain this argument is worth it? I mean, after all, it's just one creature. Remember what the Chancellor said."

Carmen glares at him and says "I will not watch an Innocent creature die Skywalker and it isn't the creature. It's the principle. Allowing the Dugs to kill it violates what we stand for as Jedi."

Anakin glares at her and says "But if we choose to defend the creature, we lose all hope of securing a treaty with the Dugs."

Carmen shakes her head and says "think what you will Master Skywalker but I will not allow an innocent creature to be slaughtered" before walking away.

Anakin glares at Windu and says "can't you stop her? If she doesn't start supporting the Dugs then we will never get that treaty."

Windu glares at him and says "I agree with her Skywalker and you do not know her like I do, she cares very deeply for animals and she especially cares for one's that cannot defend themselves."

Before he walks after her, after a while they call Palpatine and they show him some footage, he looks at it marked and says "How remarkable! I have never seen anything quite like it."

Windu glares at him and says "I recommend that we transport it off the planet as soon as possible. We can find a place for it to live undisturbed in the Outer Rim."

Palpatine looks back at him and says "And what do the Dugs have to say on this matter?" Carmen shakes her head and says "They want us to help them destroy it."

Palpatine smiles and says "Then by all means help them. This creature is of no importance to us. We cannot be alienating the Dugs at this crucial time."

Carmen snarls and says "It is not the Jedi way to take an innocent life. Especially if it is the last of its kind. I will not watch an innocent creature die, even if it means no treaty."

Palpatine glares at her but before a yelling match can brake out, the doctor says "Chancellor Palpatine, I think it would be in our best interest to study this creature. Its outer scales are virtually impenetrable. None of our weapons could harm it."

Anakin nods and says "Even my lightsaber couldn't cut it." The Doctor nods an says "If we could somehow duplicate that for our ships..."

Palpatine looks back up at the video and says "An impenetrable armor." Anakin then says "What if we let the Dugs think we killed it? Then we could have the treaty and the creature."

Palpatine nods and says "Yes, Anakin, go on." Anakin says "When I was climbing on the creature, I noticed small gaps
between the armor and its scales. Maybe a stun cannon or a pulse could penetrate through the skin and short-circuit its nervous system. Like putting it into a deep sleep."

The doctor nods and says "He's right. It would appear to be dead. We could transport it to a secure location before it wakes up. The Dugs would never know the difference."

The Chancellor nods and says "That may be the only way we shall get this treaty signed and rest padawan Leal's conscience." Carmen glares at him but before she could say anything, he hangs up.

She takes a deep breath to calm herself before walking away, Windu saw that she was about to lose it so he follows her. She soon punches a wall and felt tears prick her eyes but she quickly shook it off and was about to hit the wall again when Windu grabbed her fist.

He saw that she had tears in her eyes so he lest go if her fist before he puts his hands on her shoulders and says "padawan, talk to me. What's wrong?"

She starts pacing around and says "Theres a lot of things wrong right now! Number 1 I'm worried about the Zilo Beast, number 2 I'm pissed off at the King, and number 3 if I ever have another talk with the Chancellor again three is going to be a shouting match!"

She groans and holds her hair before she lets it go and punches the wall, she cradles her hurt fist to her chest before she starts crying, now normally she wouldn't be doing this on a mission and certainly not in front of her master but the stress was getting to her.

She then feels Windu draw her into a hug and says "it's alright padawan, I know your stressed but everything will be alright, I'm worried about the Zilo too and I'm also pissed off at the King and Chancellor but everything will be alright, you just need to trust in the force."

She nods and after a while she's able to calm down so Windu helps her up and wipes away her tears before leading her back to the others.

While walking she says "master, you know me and the Chancellor are bound to get into a shouting match lately so who do u think would win? Me or him?"

He thinks for a moment and says "that's a hard one padawan, but I might have to say you, I mean you can't get pretty angry sometimes and you certainly protective over animals and the men."

She smiles and says "I'll take that as a compliment" before following him back to the group.
