When you wake up, your immediate thought was that maybe you're on your period because of the immense pain on your stomach.

It feels like I got cut in half, what de hell-

And then all that happened yesterday came back to you.

You whimper in pain and instinctively move to curl up on yourself but your left arm and right leg throbbed in pain thanks to the movement.

"(Y/n)...! You're finally awake!"

You groan and open your eyes, though you close them again at the sudden brightness.

"Inosuke...?" You mumble out through a dry throat.

"Yeah!" Inosuke laughs and lowers his voice a bit, "Wait here, I'll get one of those Butterfly girls or Shinobu!"

"Oh okay..."

You hear rapid thumping of footsteps then a door opening and closing.

WHY THE HELL DIDN'T INOSUKE COME BACK TO THE RENGOKU ESTATE?!

You lift your right hand and rub your eyes to get rid of those morning crusties. You take a deep breath through your nose and finally open your eyes.

You were in the Butterfly Estate no doubt. There were two empty beds on your left, and one empty bed at the far end of the right side.

The bed right next to yours (on the right) was occupied by an unconscious Tanjiro.

You start to tear up.

Tanjiro was hooked up to wires, bandaged in many places...

"Tanjiro..." You whimper, "Hi... I haven't seen you in a while. I'm sorry I never... I'm sorry I left."

He's not going to wake up.

"You were always there for me when I needed you to be... but I ran away at the first sign of an inconvenience." You ramble quietly, "But you know I love you, right Tanjiro?"

"Yeah... it's been a tough few weeks. Gerik died... I ran away to my dad because I-I couldn't face the reality of it. Sekido and I were separated for a week when I returned..."

You smile, absentmindedly reaching your good arm towards Tanjiro: "And then I went on this hellish mission with Iguro... and Aimi-you don't know her, she was... someone special. She died on that mission... and so, so many more."

"Then I spoke to Tengen, I asked why he suddenly disappeared and... and I think it'll take a little more time, but I hope he realizes that he's so much more than what his insecurities say." You continue softly.
