you've handled it so well

We all agreed on 20 minutes to gear up and prepare ourselves before we left. I as I put my suit on, I began to remember all the events that came the last time I put it on. The emotions became too much to handle and I slowly began to take the suit off again. Steve knocked lightly on my doorframe, catching my attention.

"Are you not coming?" Steve asks, already geared up

"This suit. I can't wear this," I reply

"I'm sure we can work around that. Come with me," he smiles

He and I walk down to the lab, Steve opens a door that I honestly just never bothered to ask about. It was a small room filled with clothing on hangers and boxes.

"What is this?" I ask, looking around the room

"This is where Tony puts all his rejected projects. Suits he didn't like, weapons that were buggy, stuff like that," Steve replies while looking through for something specific

I stand and watch Steve as he picks through the suits, finally finding what he was looking for. He hands me a black suit with red detailing. He smiles at me and turns around to face the wall, allowing me to change with some bit of privacy. I slip the suit on and turn to look at my reflection. It was quite tight, long-sleeved and covered most of my body, except for a small triangle cut out just above my chest.

"You can turn now," I chuckle

Steve turns around and shoots me a proud smile.

"Like it was made for you," he smiles

"Who was it originally made for?" I ask while looking at my reflection

"Tony made it for Nat but she didn't like it very much. Wasn't her style I assume," he responds

"It's beautiful," I reply

"Indeed it is," he smiles

"Thank you, Steve," I state while pulling him into a hug

He wraps his arms around me and holds me tight, letting out a sigh of comfort at our contact.

"It's my pleasure," he replies

As we end our embrace, Steve leads the way as we head down to meet with the rest of the team. I equip myself with a few blades, strapping them to my leg. I top it all of with a longer blade, hooking it onto the suit, resting it on my waist. We all load onto Rocket's ship. His ship was the best idea due to the fact that we literally had to go to space. Banner and Nebula sit in the very front of the ship, Rocket sits in the pilot's seat while Carol sits beside him. Steve and Nat sat behind them while I took a seat between Thor and Rhodes. As we take off, Rocket speaks up.

"Okay. Who here hasn't been to space?" Rocket asks, looking back at all of us.

Steve, Nat, Rhodes and I all lift our hands in response. Carol lets out a slight chuckle at the number of hands.

"Why?" I ask

"You better not throw up on my ship," Rocket replies

I brace myself and look at Rhodes with a concerned expression, he returns the same expression.

"Approaching jump in 3...2...1" Nebula states

We shoot forward at an insanely fast speed. My body begins to feel a push and I begin to panic, the feeling was so foreign, I didn't know how to react. Thor chuckles beside me and puts his arm around me to comfort me.

"It's okay, just close your eyes and take deep breaths," He states, unphased by the jump

I close my eyes and soon enough, the feeling was gone. The ship slowed as we approached our destination. I opened my eyes and Thor took his arms from around me, shooting me a comforting smile. Behind the muscular and powerful facade, Thor was gentle and caring. He truly cared about all his friends and family with his whole heart. As we approached the planet, I stared as I admired it. It resembled earth a lot, which was surprising. Carol deployed herself from the ship for a recon. She quickly shot towards the planet with an array of colours behind her. Steve just stares at the ground as we wait for Carol. I look in his hand and notice a familiar compass that Steve always carried. It was the same compass that contained a picture of Peggy. He protected that compass with his life, he brought it with him everywhere he went. In a way, it was his good luck charm. He soon closes it and places it back in his pocket. I crouch beside him and he looks over at me with a smile.
