"Thanks again for driving me to the airport," Parker said to Charlie from the passenger seat of her own car. "I could've just Ubered, but I appreciate you getting up at 5 a.m. for this."
"You're letting me use your car until you come back, it's the least I could do," Charlie looked over to the girl next to him quickly, seeing her leaning her head on the window and she looked out at the rising sum before putting his attention back on the road. "You okay?"
"I'm sad," the blonde girl sighed. "I'm gonna miss you."
"Aw, little old me?" the boy teased his friend.
"All of you, you idiot," Parker sat up straight to smack his arm. "It's just gonna be weird not seeing everyone every day."
"Yeah, I'm gonna miss everyone too," Charlie nodded. "But you get to see your family today!"
"That I can't wait for," Parker smiled, thinking about how excited she is to see her parents and younger siblings. The pair pulled up to the airport and sat there in silence. They knew that they would have to say goodbye once Parker got out of the car, and neither of them wanted to. "This is it, huh?"
"You're acting like we're never gonna see each other again."
"You know what I mean," Parker rolled her eyes. "We're going from seeing each other every day for like 3 months to not seeing each other for a few weeks. That means no hugs, you know."
"Ah shit, that's true," Charlie sighed, looking at the girl next to him. "I don't want to not be able to hug you every day."
The pair once again sat in silence, looking at one another. Checking her phone, Parker broke the silence. "I need to go now so I don't miss my flight."
"I'll get your bags from the trunk," Charlie offered, and jumped out of the car before Parker could respond. She slowly got out after him, grabbing her backpack. Once Charlie had her suitcases out and the trunk closed, her pulled Parker into a tight hug. "Call me as soon as you land, okay?"
"Okay," Parker whispered into his chest. Charlie placed a soft kiss on her forehead, and they reluctantly pulled apart. "I'll see you in a couple weeks."
