Chaeyoung

"Yeri?"

She cleared her throat and placed the carton of milk onto the countertop. She then turned to me and gave me a smile.

"What are you doing here?" I asked with a crease on my forehead. She just stared at me for a little while before her eyes drifted behind me. When I turned around a bit, I saw Kris coming. He stopped when he saw us. He glanced at Yeri as he continued coming closer.

I narrowed my eyes. "Are you two.."

"No." Kris said instantly. I frowned and watched the two of them in confusion.

"She's my sister." My eyes widened.

"What?" I asked, shocked. "I-I mean.. how?"

"We're not real siblings but we treat each other like that." Yeri told me.

"My parents didn't want me so they left me by the door of the orphanage. Then Father saw me and decided to take me here." She smiled. "I'm using my real name, Kim Yerim. And if you're wondering how I knew what my real name is, it's because my parents left a note in the basket I was in. Father thought of changing my name but he decided to wait for me to grow up and decide. And I decided not to."

My lips parted and my heart ached at what I heard. How could they do that?

"He's my brother, unnie. My annoying brother who's quiet as hell." She chuckled.

"But he can be sweet too." She winked at me.

"Stop that, Yerim." Kris spoke.

"Fine, fine. I'll go back to my room."

"Uh, why don't you join us?"

"Maybe next time." She smiled and I nodded. She turned her back against us and poured milk into her glass. Then I heard her say something to Kris before walking past him.

"Move fast, oppa."

"Sehun! Come and join us!"

Baekhyun shouted in the pool. Tao then spoke before Sehun could even reply.

"You guys look so good together but could you please separate even just for a while?" He laughed loudly.

"You're making us envious!" Luhan said.

Sehun laughed. "Aren't you going to swim?" He asked me.

"Later. I'll eat first."

"Right." He chuckled. "Can I join them?" I frowned and turned to him.

"Why are you asking me that? Of course, you can."

He smiled and nodded before standing up. I gulped and immediately looked away when he suddenly took off his shirt. I glanced at him as he walks towards the pool. The corner of my mouth raised when he jumped onto the water, creating a splash.

"Chae!" I turned my head to the left side when Lisa called me. And there I saw her coming while holding a barbecue.

"Here, have some." I smiled and took it.

"Come to me when you want more." She told me before leaving. I started eating it and watched the guys have fun in the pool. Jennie is helping the three while Jisoo is eating on the other side of the table. I was about to stand up to sit beside her but Suho suddenly appeared and sat on her right side. I smirked and just stayed on my place.

Later on, I saw Kris coming and then our eyes locked. I smiled a bit at him until he sat on a chair near me.

"You're not going to swim?" He asked lowly.

"Later. I'm still eating." He nodded at what I said. We fell silent for a little while before I decided to speak.

"I didn't expect you're Yeri's brother.."

He nodded shortly. "She doesn't want many people to know."

I smiled. "She's nice. She helped me twice before." A small smile appeared on his face.

"You're smiling." He glanced at me, the smile on his face already gone.

"You know.. You should smile often."

"Sorry. I.. I think I forgot how to smile since my mother left." I blinked profusely and felt bad.

"I'm sorry." I said softly. "It must've been devastating."

"Of course."

"But she's definitely in a good place now, right?" I furrowed my brows when he suddenly started laughing.

"Yeah. She's having the time of her life at a penthouse with her new family." My lips parted.

"Sorry! I thought.." He chuckled.

"Were you close with her?"

"Yes." He smiled. "She's actually the reason why we're here in Korea.."

"Dad loathed her when she left us. He was a wreck for months before he decided to live here in Korea." I just listened quietly at everything he said. Silence enveloped us when he stopped talking. I don't actually know what to say. I didn't expect that..

"I'm going back to China once I graduate." He said that caught my attention. "I'm going to manage our company there.." I nodded a bit.

"Chaeyoung, let's go swim." I turned my head when I heard Jisoo speak. I nodded at her and stood up. I glanced at Kris first before Jisoo and I walked towards the pool.

The two of us laughed when Baekhyun suddenly cheered for us. When we were already in the water, Luhan swam near us and hit the water. I shrieked a bit when the water hit my face. Sehun swam towards me and hit the water towards Luhan that made me laugh.

"Yah! You should be on my side!"

Later on, I found the others joining us in the pool except Kyungsoo, Kris, Suho, Lay, Chen and Chanyeol. I'm sitting on the edge of the pool while half of my legs are in the water. Sehun is in the water but he's standing near me and facing me, his left elbow on the edge of the pool and his palm supporting his head.

I awkwardly cleared my throat and watched the rest having fun. He's staring too much..

"Chanyeol! Stop texting and join us here!" Minseok shouted that made me look at Chanyeol who's sitting on a lounge chair and typing on his phone.

"Wait!"

"So.." i looked at Sehun when he spoke, but I averted my eyes immediately because he's still staring. "What were you and Kris hyung talking about earlier?"

I glanced at him. "Yeri.. His mother.. and the reason why they're here."

"Ah." I looked at him and found him raising a brow. "He told you about that already?"

"Mmh.." Suddenly, I saw the woman from earlier. I watched her walk towards Kris and tell something to him. I frowned when Kris stood up immediately and glanced near where I am. Seconds later, the woman left and Kris started walking.

When he stopped near me, he was about to speak when his eyes drifted somewhere.

"What?" Sehun asked.

"Uh.. Sehun." I looked at Baekhyun when he spoke but I noticed someone near the pool from the corner of my eyes, causing me to turn my head in that direction.

I furrowed my brows in curiosity when I saw a beautiful and elegant girl in a floral dress. A sweet smile suddenly appeared on her lips.

"Hi."
