The Alpha and the pack took shelter in a cave after a tiring search. They traveled through multiple states in the month they passed. He knew there were getting closer, he could start to feel your presence a lot more now. It still wasn't enough to get your scent and just go find you himself. He kept to himself most of the time and the pack was starting to feel worried about him but mostly scared to even go talk to him since he was becoming aggressive. The pack was doing their thing at the camp to keep them busy. Nova, Marco, and Asher were out hunting
Asher: This shit is getting old. We've been looking for a month and STILL nothing
Nova: Why don't you just shut up? We're getting close, I can feel it
Asher: Hmph you say that all the time
Nova: And you annoy me everyday
Marco: How about both of you shut up? You talk about her everyday and that gets annoying
Nova glares
Nova: Okay hot shot ; what would you want us to do then?
Marco: Just be quiet before you scare off all the animals
Nova: The animals are too small here. We should go into the town or at least fish if we want to feed everyone
Marco: Or we can just leave like she did
Nova and Asher look at him
Nova: What?
Asher: And go where exactly?
Marco: Anywhere but this dump. I'm tired of taking orders from him. He's going to get us killed
Nova: He's been keeping us alive. How could you say that?
Asher: Look around Nova. Look where we are. This search will never end and everyone will abandon him
Nova: That's bullshit and you know it
Asher: is it?
Marco: He's right
Nova: Excuse me?
Marco: This search has gotten us nowhere and he seems to only care about her than anyone else at the moment
Nova: I can't believe what I'm hearing. After everything we've been through and you're going to turn your backs on him? On this pack? Your family?
Asher: You really think this is still a family? Everyone disagreeing with his calls? Some talking about leaving as well?
Nova: You know what? The hell with both you. You can hunt on your own now. I'm going back to camp
She starts to walk
Marco: You know we're right?
She stops. They hear the Alpha howling
Nova: Time to go back
She runs off
Asher: Why is he calling us back?
Marco: It's never anything good, let's go
They run off as well. When they get back to camp, they see everyone packing their things. Nova goes over to the Alpha
Nova: What's going on?
Alpha: We're leaving
Asher: Leaving?!
Marco: And where the hell are we going?!
Alpha: To look for her that's what!
Asher: Are you serious?!
The Alpha glares at him
Asher: We haven't eaten, we haven't rested...
Alpha: I don't give a shit! We're going right now!
Marco: No!
Everyone gasps
Alpha: What did you say?
Marco: I'm not taking orders from you anymore
The Alpha walks over to him
Alpha: I am The Alpha of the pack. I am your leader. You will obey
Marco: No
The Alpha makes a fist with both fists and growls
Marco: I've had this burning feeling inside of me for a long time now and I know what I must do
Alpha: Yeah and what's that?
Marco: I challenge you as Alpha
Nova's eyes get wide as everyone is in shock
Asher: I second that
Alpha: Both of you at once? You think that'll give you a chance at winning? I don't think so
Marco: Nova come on
The Alpha's eyes get wide then quickly looks at her
Nova: Wait what?
Marco: When I become Alpha, you'll be by my side as my mate
Nova: Not like this! This is not what I said about handling your "urge" this is reckless and stupid of you to think I would ever betray him!
The Alpha nods then looks back at Marco and Asher
Alpha: You got your answer from her. So both of you want to challenge me to the death for the title of Alpha?
They both nod
Alpha: So be it then
He starts to transform into his werewolf form as Marco and Asher do the same. The Alpha was much taller than both of them combined. Everyone starts to back up a little bit so they're not in the way. Marco and Asher growl then split in each corner of him. He stares them down as they both attack at the same time. He grabs both of them by the neck, smashes their heads together, and throws him back. They quickly get up and shake their heads. He let's out a laugh as Asher charges. The Alpha quickly grabs him by the head and puts him on the ground. Marco attacks him, knocking him on his back as they all start fighting. The Alpha scratches Marco in the chest and punches him off. Asher bites him on his leg which makes him let out a roar but he quickly bites Asher on the back, picking him up with his mouth. Asher let's out a yelp while trying to get him off but the Alpha bites down hard and breaks his back, killing him instantly then tossing him away. Everyone looks as Asher goes back to his human form and lies there dead. Marco sees then gets mad, charging again. The Alpha jumps at him, tackling him while getting a hold of his neck. He looks at Nova. She knows what's coming so she looks down. He looks back at Marco and snaps his neck, killing him. A tear slides down Nova's face when she hears the crack noise. Marco turns to his human form, dead as well. The Alpha let's out a victory roar then turns back. He glares at the dead bodies then walks away, going over to Nova. She looks up at him
Alpha: I'm sorry kid. I know how much he meant to you but I had no choice
Nova: I...I know
He wipes the tear off her face, kisses the top of her head, and holds her close to him. He looks at everyone
Alpha: You know what to do
They all transform, go over to Marco and Asher's bodies, and start to eat them. Nova hugs The Alpha tighter when she hears what's happening
Alpha: Shh it's okay. It'll be over soon
