The Family

𝙿𝚊𝚛𝚝 𝟷𝟹𝟶 - 𝙻𝚊 𝙵𝚊𝚖𝚒𝚐𝚕𝚒𝚊

I slowly open my eye, I have an aching pain in my head and my whole body has pin and needles. I open my eyes then shut then, they flicker from the light and I get a white noise ringing in my ears.

My whole body begins to ache and I get chest pain, when my hearing comes around I hear the most amazing sound. "Mammy." Ayah says and I slowly open my eyes again.

I look around the room, I have no idea where I am or what I'm doing here but all I know is the sadness in my baby girls voice breaks my heart. I slowly sit up but Ace stops me, I look in his eyes and my whole body sets on fire.

"Hey wait don't, move let me go get someone." He says, a smile crosses his face and i frown at him.

"Sorry am I supposed to know who you are." I say, my voice is dry and croaky. My words shatter him as his face twists into a frown.

"You don't know who I am." He says, the sadness in his voice is evident and i smile at him.

"I'm kidding, of course I know who you are." I cough as I speak and he lets out a sigh of relief.

"Eiffel don't do that." He says and i giggle at him. He kisses my forehead and i smile. I look around the room and notice my finger nails are painted a pale pink colour.

"Harlow did that." He says and i smile. He helps me to sit up and Ayah is standing on the couch. My hand move to my hair and I realise it's braided, some hair has fallen out at the front but the rest is secure. "And that." He says making me laugh.

"Mammy." Ayah shouts and Ace lifts her from the couch into my bed and she crawled towards me. She wraps her arms around me and I consume her into a hug.

"Hey princess." I say and she giggles into my chest.

"Mamma magic." She says and i frown looking at Ace.

"Long story." He says while sitting in the bed. "You have no idea how much I've missed you. I thought you left me." He says and i shake my head.

"I told you. Never." I say and he kisses my forehead and Ayah laughs. My eyes widen as I realise I was pregnant, I look down at my stomach and the bump is still there and I have wires connected to me all over.

"There ok." Ace says as if he read my mind. I look up at him and his thumb brushes over my cheek. "Eiffel never do that again." He demands and i nod my head.

Ayah curls into my chest and I gasp, "you ok." He says and i nod looking down at Ayah. "Ayah you have to be carful my mama." He says and she nods leaning back onto him. She takes my hand and plays with it. I look down at my hand and notice I don't have my wedding ring on.

I take my hand form Ayah and start looking through the bed sheets. "Rings?" He says and i nod my head looking at him.

"Ayahs wearing them." He says and i look at her but her hands are to small for my rings. "You weren't allowed them while they did the operation so Ayah looks after them for you." He says and i nod looking at her. I notice a small change tucked into the collar of her dress.

I slowly pull on it bringing it out of her dress, around her neck was my engagement and wedding ring. She plays with them in her hand and i smile at her. "Daddy needs to buy you a ring." I say and i hear Ace chuckle next to me.

"I'm going to go get a doctor Ayah watch Mammy." Ace says and i laugh.

"Isn't it supposed to be the other way around." I ask and he shakes his head.

"No , Ayah watch her make sure she doesn't go back into her magic sleep." Ace says and Ayah sits on the bed crossing her arms and staring at me.

"You got so big baby. Did dad do you hair." I say and she nods her head.

"Mama does it better doesn't she." I ask and again she nods her head. I move my hands under her armpits and lift her towards me. I take her hair tie out and put her hair into a little bun. I kiss her head once I'm finished and Ace walks in with a doctor.

"Mrs Marino your awake." He says and Ace rolls his eyes at me. He approaches me and begins to look over the machines and exams my bodies health status.

"Ayah are you ever going to give Mammy her ring he back." Ace says and she shakes her head. "Well I guess she gets your ring then." He says and I turn to look at him as the doctor looks back at Ace then at the screen next to me.

"Ayah ring." She says on the bed and Ace nods picking her up. "Of course I got you a ring." He said making me and Ayah both awh.

"Well the babies look safe and healthy; your health seems to be improving we would like to keep you for a few days to monitor your health but you seem back in track. You may experience dizziness or confusion which is totally normal so don't worry." He says and i nod as he walks out the room.

"I'm tired" I say and Ace brushes a hair off my head and kisses my forehead. I turn to see Ace playing with her teddy bear in the bed.

"Mama no." She says and i look at her confused.

"Baby I'm not going anywhere I promise. Come here." I say and she crawls towards me. I lay back down in the bed and she lays in front of me, I wrap my arms around her and kiss her head.

"You think I'll ever leave you" I say and she shakes her head. I pull her closer and she turn around, her arm wraps around my back and I pull her up higher.

She kisses my bump and I smile, I move closer towards her and Ace slides in behind me and wraps his arms around both me and Ayah. He snuggles his head into my neck and i smile.

I lay on the bed and think of my life. I have been blessed with three beautiful children but my biggest blessing was Ace. He was the one who gave my my kids and in the process became my rock. Someone once told me. Never fall in love, be in love because everything that falls breaks. I couldn't disagree more. To many he's the villain but he was never the villain to my story, he was the hero that saved my life and the father to my children. If I never fell in love I would never have got the ONE person that would never give up on me. No matter what we went through or what happened he will always be my Ace. So with it all said and done I would not go back and change a thing because it was a part of our journey. With all the heartbreak that's how I knew...

He will always be Mine. My home. My Ace. My Family.
