I See You

"I have to leave early today" said Meghan as she checked her watch, Lena looked at her in silence, she wasn't really sure how to answer to that so instead she just nodded "I'll be leaving in about an hour" she continued.

"Where are you going?" asked Lena, she was sitting as she usually did in front of the cash register, she looked away from Meghan and watched as a few couples walked by the side walk in front of the shop.

"I'm going to take Mike to the doctor" explained Meghan, she looked at Lena but the blond wasn't looking at her. "My mom thinks he might be catching something"

"Huh" whispered Lena, she eyed Meghan "Say hi to him for me"

"I will" whispered Meghan "I already told Mr. Morely but in case he does ask just tell him I had to take my brother to the doctor"

"I will" said Lena "I don't think he will ask though"

"You never know with that man" pointed out Meghan.

"Are you up for a girls night on Saturday?" asked Lena, she had shifted her body and was now looking directly at Meghan, Meghan turned to look at her friend and a smile slowly appeared over her face.

"Are you serious?" asked Meghan, she was actually surprised, she hadn't been having any time with Lena the last months and that the girl was suggesting a girls night with ice cream, movies and gossip sounded perfect.

"Yes" chuckled Lena "Are you in for it or not? I could always ask someone else"

"Really?" laughed Meghan, "Like whom? Linda or Sophia?"

"Both sound like great company"

Meghan laughed loudly and rolled her eyes playfully at her friend "I don't think your parents like our girl nights a lot, too much ice cream and high pitched laughing"

"I'm home alone this weekend" explained Lena "My uncle is getting married, so they are flying to Florida"

"Richard is getting married?" gasped Meghan "That's great!"

"I know" smiled Lena "So my parents are leaving on Friday, you could come over on Saturday night?"

"Sounds great" smiled Meghan "Wait, why aren't they taking you?"

Lena looked at Meghan and shrugged "I suppose they want some time for themselves, you know? Like a mini honeymoon"

"I really want to go to the beach too" sighed Meghan "We could both use some time at the beach and away from this town"

"We do" smiled Lena, but deep inside, Meghan had no idea how much Lena needed to get away from that town, even if it was just for a few days, she just needed to get away from everything and everyone.

Meghan and Lena continued to talk and attend a few costumers for the next hour until Meghan had to leave, she said her goodbyes to Lena and after packing her things, she disappeared to the parking lot of the ice cream shop and left to pick up her younger brother, leaving Lena alone at the Paradise.

"Ugh" whispered Lena, she still had another hour and so to go before she could go home, she looked around and realized that the shop no longer looked amicable like it usually did; Lena wasn't sure if it was because she no longer felt safe anywhere but in her room or because Junior's rant about Morely was starting to get to her.

Lena frowned as she thought of the way Junior and Nicola had suddenly teamed up against Morely, she rolled her eyes with annoyance, she knew they wanted to help, but Mr. Morely had never been anything but nice to her and she would be damned if she started to second guess her boss.
