I See You

Lena's eyes fluttered open, the light bulb above her made her close her eyes and turn her head to the left, she felt dizzy and a beeping sound was echoing in the room and she was hoping it wasn't something her mind was making up.

She forced her eyes to open once more and this time she made out the figure of Meghan standing next to her, the white wall behind Meghan told Lena that she had to be at a hospital; nothing looked that white and unwelcoming as the hospital walls. Lena squinted and Meghan's body started to appear in detail in front of her, behind Meghan, Lena saw someone moving.

"What's happening?" Lena finally whispered.

Her voice came out harsh and Lena felt her throat dry and painful, almost as she had swallowed a handful of sand.

"We are at the hospital" answered Meghan, she took Lena's hand, Lena looked down at their hands and the tried to focus on the person behind Meghan.

"How are you feeling?" asked a male voice; Lena recognized Stuart's tone.

"How am I feeling?" Lena asked herself, she was not sure how to answer to that, she was sure the pounding in her head was gone just as well as the buzzing in her ears, but she still couldn't find a way to answer that question, she didn't know how she was feeling.

"I don't know" Lena finally answered, she closed her eyes, shutting her eyes tight and taking in a deep, long breath, her heart constricting with an ice cold hand, she had to force herself to avoid the crying that had started to swell up in her throat and in her soul.

She remembered the shooting, the stabbing...

"The blood" she closed her eyes tighter "All that blood"

She took in another deep breath as she felt Meghan's hand tighten over her own, she exhaled slowly and opened her eyes once she was sure she wasn't going to start crying.

"You are safe now, Le" whispered Meghan "Everything is going to be ok"

Lena looked at Meghan and then eyed Ryan, he was standing near the door with his arms crossed over his chest and puffy eyes.

"Junior?" she asked, she didn't feel strong enough to ask about Nicola, the last he had seen of him was when he had collapsed in her house, she didn't know if he had been alive or dead.

Stuart looked down at his watch and then back at Lena "He's in surgery"

Lena swallowed hard and turned to look at Meghan "Is he going to be ok?

Stuart and Meghan looked at each other and then looked at Lena, she glanced at both of them and then locked her eyes over Meghan.

"I think so" whispered Stuart "I'll go check in an hour and let you know that the doctors say"

"The knife" whispered Lena, she looked away, she wasn't talking to anyone in the room, she was speaking to herself out loud "He had the knife in his back"

Lena didn't notice Meghan and Stuart look at each other and then back at Lena, they obviously didn't know that Junior had pieces of knife stuck in his back.

"Lena" whispered Stuart, both Meghan and Lena looked at Stuart, Meghan had a warning glare in her eyes "What happened in there?"

"Stuart" said Meghan with anger, she couldn't believe Stuart was asking her this kind of thing. "Don't do this"

"He tried to kill us" whispered Lena, her eyes hardened and then she felt the urge to cry once more but she forced herself not too "He was there to kill me"

"Why would Ryan do that?" said Stuart, his tone rising, he wasn't angry at Lena, he was just trying to understand how everything had gotten out of control, how Ryan had tried to harm anyone, he couldn't believe that had happened at all.
